No biggie, Citizencon is only a month away, lulzbuckets galore! [big grin]
So, Orlando - are you willing to go on record as to whether you think SQ42 will be released this year?
If that's e negative can you give an idea of when?
No pressure.

True, gamescom was hilarious in its ineptitude — an entire festival dedicated to the ridiculous spectacle of incompetence will be a laugh riot. Until you realise that it's not a joke and that people actually believe in the nonsense. No biggie, Citizencon is only a month away, lulzbuckets galore! [big grin]
Yes, they will. The volume of people who dislike them is perhaps more of an indicator of their public perception. For example, one might contend that Katie Hopkins is reasonably accomplished, but my word she's earned all the hate that comes her way.Every successfully accomplished persona gains haters, it's the norm.
I'd like Chris more if he were at least able to temper his enthusiasm. Coming across like he and his company are the saviours of PC gaming is not particularly appealing. With Chris Roberts it's no different.
I don't think most here wish failure upon Chris and CIG. It's more that they wish the project were being managed differently so that the *chance* of failure is lower.Only failures wish failure upon others
Fortunately we aren't all completely blinded to reality, and are able to spot the signs of a product going bad. Just sticking your fingers in your ears and going "la la la la la" isn't going to make the problems go away. There's every chance that Squadron 42 and SC are going to be really good games, but I'm not convinced that it'll be through good judgement and solid management.Like Gary Oldman said, "it's gona be a cracker". And there's nothing anyone can do about it. In this forum or anywhere.
You know, I'd take your posts more seriously were you to omit hyperbole like this. All the stars are aligned to produce one of the biggest and more revolutionary games ever. That's why it keeps gathering more and more support. It's becoming more and more evident as development goes, that, this is the real deal indeed. There is no stopping this behemoth of Capital Ship Video-Game.
Really not convinced that BBC Click should be held up as a paragon of gaming coverage (sorry Kate if you're reading!). The CIG coverage was basically a fluff piece. I'd love to see a Panorama episode about this game though.Even mainstream media acknowledge that already:

It was allways my perception that Squadron 42 would be released in 2017 (Q1/Q2). That's based on all the delays already and the fact that there is no need to push release. Thankfully the game is being developed without a rope around it's neck like they usually are. It will release when it's ready. Just like every game should be.So, Orlando - are you willing to go on record as to whether you think SQ42 will be released this year?

No, you don't understand. It's because it's so good that they can't show anything from it other than a demo that looks like it was made in 2002, and the most dull and flat delivery of an uninspired and poorly shot talking head scene. After all, the best way to show something off is to roll out the aspect that everyone cares the least about. So no actor has ever talked up a movie that they're in while simultaneously knowing that it's rubbish?
You really need to watch more game demonstrations.I still think that Gamescom Demo was THE BEST LIVE GAME DEMONSTRATION ever showcased live.

What pressure? It's just a game, pressure is not having food to feed your kids, having your mother sick and no way to give her healthcare and so on.
This is all fun and games for people with nothing better to do (including me), it's worthless beyond the pixeland.![]()
Could you please indulge me?You really need to watch more game demonstrations.
I love listening to all the armchair CEOs in this room who could manage a company going for 7 employees to 330 employees in a few short years, while developing a product.
Growing pains will happen regardless of the industry or who is in charge. To think you or someone else could do better in such a scenario is a bit naive.
I still think that Gamescom Demo was THE BEST LIVE GAME DEMONSTRATION ever showcased live. And the press showcases that, it literally went round and round the world gaining massive coverage and helping with the gain of $5 MILLION DOLLAS alone in the month of August. [up] Impressive indeed!

Well you wouldn't need to personally do better.
With the money they've brought in you could afford to hire some pros and off down the pub.
