The Star Citizen Thread v5

How should they present said new? you just don't like the information provided because it doesn't fit the agenda here.

Welcome to the thread :) Are you the replacement for JohnMice? I got so conflicted with him. With Orlando you can clearly tell he is baiting just within the rules to get a rise, sometimes rather well... JM was either a brilliant, brilliant troll, or he really was a couple of kumquats short of a fruit salad.

Oh, to talk about SC rather than agendas, can you tell me when Sq42 is scheduled for release? The lines of comms out of CiG Towers are getting a bit cloudy :/

I don't see any problem in accepting that some of you think the game will fail for whatever reason. Just like I expect you to accept that I think it's going to be one of the greatest milestones in gaming for years to come. It is that simple. They are both opinions on the extreme opposite sides, but they are still opinions based on each ones assessments of the reality.

What rise is he trying to get? lol

Is this the twilight zone....does no one know what baiting means? if he was then he would be banned.

You guys are weird. Never have I've seen information from the game, the thread is about. Be regulated to being seen as lies or baiting.

Amazing this is next level circlejerk.

Also: I've been here since the first Star Citizen thread, when it wasn't filled with this unbalanced discussion and refugees from the RSI forums.

Did I raised any problem? I was mentioned that it was funny being jumped (again) for posting news and media about the game in the thread dedicated to exactly that. ;)

Thread is for discussing SC ie; talking about it, it's not a platform for repeating their already overly repeated 'news' vids as they have their own forum and webpage for that.

If you want a thread purely for SC promotional propaganda then CIG forums or reddit await you.

One of those assessments of reality is based on past evidence, the other one is just comical

So you have nothing gotcha. Why blow smoke if you have nothing to back it up with? makes you untrustworthy and maybe that doesn't matter coming from an "enemy" which laughable.

We got a good amount of real ones off the internet.

Yes I have nothing. No SQ42, no SC, no agreeable TOS, no up-to-date client, no release date, no Star Marine, no Sataball, no Alpha3.0 and no refund.

Not really opinions though, more like realistic extrapolations of what's likely to be produced given whats been made so far with the time they've had. If you want my estimate for what it's worth, even with a large margin of error, the main game (the non mission part) needs an absolute miracle in the next few years.

It's not the end of the world however, just a lot of wasted money.

Sorry but you're not my dad.

If you want a thread purely for SC bashing, mocking and hating the "Derek Smart's House of Star Citizen Obsessive Insanity" at SomethingAwfull forums await you.

For general notice, most of rep I've gotten is from posts about news and media stuff about Star Citizen, so people do enjoy it, and most of them don't even post here that often, I wonder why. [rolleyes]

That's nice for you. Do you play the alpha (alpha)? Have you got any ships? What do you think of the flight model? Did you like the gamescom demos, it will be great to see things like that in the released game :)

Well yeah - so was I.

But that was before CIG had the opportunity to demonstrate they couldn't hit an estimated delivery date if it wiggled it's backside right under their nose.

Before the time when talking was meant to stop and action - obvious progress - was meant to happen.

Sq42 is going to be talked about and shown at CitizenCon, the TOS is a debatey     pull, the client is being updated and has had updates for months. An making a brand new client is coming.

Star Marine is coming in 2.6 (whatever that is released). Sataball will come sometime after but seriously that's not a big feature at all. Alpha 3.0 is coming like what? whatever it does. That's to be seen for sure.

No refund? seriously do you understand how many people are in the RSI community? and how easily that could and will be abused? that's a mole hill. Also people have gotten refunds before and after the from last year.

It's like you didn't watch Gamescom or even read any of the notes from that event.

You got anything else? because the agenda is becoming clear as filtered water.

Hehehe "being disingenuous to the point of outright lies in the way they present said “news”." seems such a familiar modus operandi to some here, It's laughable that you bring it up, from all the people. Please post more edited youtube clips to prove that righteous point... [rolleyes]

PS-

Still waiting...

I actually responded to this a few pages back. Star Citizen won no awards for their Gamescom Demo. I listed the awards - lots of them, for many developers. Star Citizen and CiG were not listed at all. They were barely spoken about by the mainstream gaming media.

Those companies Tippis listed? They regularly get awards at gaming shows - and their titles get many awards. Perhaps not CCP, but certainly the others.

If the demo is as good as you believe it is - why is nobody lauding and awarding it?

I tell you what did annoy me as I perused my dusty old game boxes the other week is that we could have had a new Crimson Skies game for a tenth of what Star Citizen has been given, grr. So maybe I do have an axe to grind after all. :)

New aricle in GAMERANX........The Building Controversy of Star Citizen......link:http://gameranx.com/updates/id/73286/article/the-building-controversy-of-star-citizen/

some qoute:"Thanks to documentation on the LA Court website, we get a basic peek into what exactly is going on. Cloud Imperium Games is named in a suit as the defendants. D & M Contractors are the Plantiffs. The other parties involved are Vanilla Shell Inc. which is run by Ira Siegal. According to a person familiar with the project, Siegal is the real estate agent for Chris Roberts. But the rest of this information was publicly available on a local government website. To get an idea of the amount of money involved, one website claims Vanilla Shell Inc.’s annual revenue is $86 million. That may or may not be the case, but that number can certainly be backed up with the deed records associated with Vanilla Shell as a company. Joining them and Cloud Imperium as the defendants are Barco Investments Inc. According to records, Barco is the owner of the land and building involved here. They acquired it sometime in 2007, and the value of the property is nearing $5 million.

On the surface it might not look like much, but allow me to expand upon what’s depicted there with context information. I called the Plantiff’s Lawyer’s Office and I was able to learn the basics of the unfolding ordeal from his assistant. They explained to me that D&M Contractors were looking to get paid for work they did at Cloud Imperium Games, and for whatever undisclosed reason that didn’t happen. When asked about specifics on the matter, they refrained from elaboration as the proceedings are still ongoing. But we can still get an idea of the circumstances ourselves, however."

Way to go CIG.....shameless.....
