You're still missing the point - the irritation is that it's nothing new but when it was shown at Gamescon to the Faithful they all whooped and hollered like it was the second coming of Jesus
That's what bugs folk. We literally couldn't care how many ideas they lift from other games - everyone does it - but then claiming to be the first and making something totally unique just stands out as a blatant lie.
You should read up more on this game so you can tell when people are trashtalking it or just repeating it's own claims.
Yeah. I am sure SC claimed trashtalk on itself.....
And why the hell do you bother???
Man its an Gamescom event.
People there generally wave at every sentence for heavens sake.
Not only for Star Citizen but for ANYTHING.
And heck would you mind referencing me to where SC claims to be the first on something they aint?
1) Reference to SC not having any roadmap, schedule or deliverables plan that it can be held to account over
2) Dig at a successful released title
3) Attempt at downplaying the significance of CiG quietly removing an important game feature, with no explanation of what will replace it
4) Insulting attempt to direct other poster's behaviour
Point 3 is really significant. If SC instances are going to be PvP only, with no way for owners of large cumbersome ships to avoid the attention of players who only exist to have fun at others' expense... how is that going to work?
A big ship even with LTI is supposed to take longer and longer to replace with each destruction or loss. So a concerted effort by a small and motivated team of jackals could have a serious negative effect on the play experience of a high dollar investor?
Let's not kid ourselves, in an Open PvP environment, players will find any possible loophole to annoy others... Dumbfire spam, point defence decoying, Orca ramming, pad shadowing / grinding. All of which occurred because it "could" within the confines of the game.
If SC remains only one mode, with all player types permanently locked together, it will be a very difficult task for them to balance griefing, crime and punishment, LTI timers, etc
1.
Huh?
You do know their Stretch Goal list is on their website right??
If nothing else thats more than what i can find for ED Future features lol.
2.
If you Yell at the Mountains they.ll be Yelling at you as well.
3.
Features in pre release stage are always subject of change.
Difference is. Most other games dont tell you of anything planned in the first place so you dont notice what they change.
4.
See point 2.
Include some proper Law Enforcement and Punishments. And this wont be much of an problem.
And lol. Given the Insurance System. I assume it will work like Insurance.
Destroy more stuff and you.ll go up in the percentages. Fly safe long enough and they go down.
Dont just expect this to be like ED where you pay 5 million rebuy when you get killed but only get 5000 credits bounty and only in that local system.
There's plenty of that. It's great fun killing enemies by shooting out their thrusters and watching them plummet to the ground and explode.
Yeah in the rare case it happens.
Never even once had a fight on surface so far
Yet another inaccuracy. All materials can also be mined from asteroids.
Wrong.
But well wrong topic.
*Mod hat off
Still catching up with the thread, and surely this has been discussed already, but I have to wonder at the mental gymnastics bit here. MVP by definition is something that is not "full", but rather minimum and therefore incomplete, just "viable".
Even Chris Roberts himself has already gone on record confirming that not all Stretch Goals will be on day 1, Ben has confirmed not all ships being sold will be available on day 1, and Lando has confirmed that private/moddable servers wont be on day 1. And that is among other things that are being cancelled or postponed right and left.
So I guess I have to ask... What it is your definition of "full release" again?
They are just hating i think.
