Since FDEV only considers changes in gameplay mechanics if enough people make noise I'll ask you to keep the thread alive by participating in all kinds of off topic discussions like:
- ship transfer delays
- crime & punishment
- open vs solo
- to grief or not to grief
- what is worse, griefing, combat logging or griefing by combat logging?
- is the game dead?
- does multiplayer even exist?
- maybe there are some mysteries hidden in this thread? Help us find them!
PS
- what happened to offline mode?
- third person mode
- 5000 more fire buttons please
- undo the python nerf
I don't mind the blue circles but your suggestion of the Scavenger hunt approach does sound better. But...
It will be annoying if I see an anomaly, but don't have an SRV in my ship because it takes far too long to summon one that does and even if I did, some other player would just attack for the lulz as there is no crime and punishment system. It's that sort of thing that makes me swap to Solo to avoid the cess-pit of Open. Mobius means I can be sociable and avoid the griefing although that doesn't get me as riled as those nasty combat loggers spoiling my (sorry, their) fun. Mind you, as soon as SC is released this game is dead because of the lack of any real multiplayer making this forum more interesting than the game with all those mysterious things people post.
I'm sure this game was advertised with an offline mode in the Kickstarter bumpf but disappeared before release. I was looking forward to playing on my laptop while half way up Everest with no Internet connection so I demand it is bought back and while we are at it, the external camera sucks the big one as it's far to limited. I want full control of my ship while admiring it's backside and who thought it was a good idea to only give us two fire buttons to share between the fifty things that can be fired? I demand a hot-key for every possible function the game has. My PC has two keyboards so I want at least 500 mappable command buttons. And finally, the Python was much more fun before it was nerfed so I demand it is put back as it was because the nerf triggers me
PS. Just for anyone that didn't read the OP the above is not serious (I notice this sort of thing needs to be explained some times)
Get rid of the random POI stuff. Give us a scanner that populates the planetary map, and let us fly there.
POIs should be more like the wave scanner. Non-descript circles are just odd. And the wonky way that mission POIs roll around the planet leading you on a pretend "search" that is actually 100% on safety-rails, it's boring. If you're going to just shift the location, but still tell us exactly where to go, why bother with the dancing around? There is no player involvement, unless you count "chasing a carrot on a string" as player participation.
Needs a refresh for sure. Something that has actual gameplay where the player can make mistakes, and feel good when they get it right. You know, like star trek![]()

It's still clunky, unrealistic and doesn't allow immersive gameplay. Because there is no good way to find them they need to be all over the place, doesn't make much sense when you are exploring.
I hope if they do make some changes to POI's they also do something about planetary coordinates. They should be visible from the system map and make placing markers an option. Temporary markers would be ok that disappear once you leave the system but bookmarks would be even better.
