Not too much to report at the moment.
CitizenCon to happen this weekend - some speculation on whether 2.6 or 2.5 will be used for live gameplay demos - will 2.6 include Star Marine? Will the changes to the FM for SCM be any good? When will we get 2.6?

It's easy to deflect criticism when you haven't put anything out to stand on it's own merits. Everything is Alpha! If you have criticism it's most probably because you don't understand what Alpha means right? Keep funding it... money + development = all issues solved, all things to all men ..at some point soon, they can do anything as this equation proves. Anyone who says otherwise doesn't believe in Chris.
ED isn't calling itself an Alpha anymore. It's something you can buy on Steam, they want twenty pounds. How very dare they build an open world space game and not put a magic big server in the **cloud** with a single shard of a billion real time simulated space-ships being flown by HOTAS/VR systems with cut scene stories providing endless deep and meaningful space adventure...like what Star Citizen will using the above equation... Open season for criticism.
Also space legs are the most important thing in space games as NMS proves.

Sad truth of it.
Not even a peep from Major Tom lately - presumably this utter dearth of updates is because it's only taken them 30 seconds of dev time to build the tiny bit of planet needed to do the CittiCon demo. I mean it's what a few square km rather than a whole planet that only takes a day and they're just perfecting the tools so it'll all be ready to roll in 3.0 before year-end so that must be it.
And that's all we have.
Love the idea of CittiCon Bingo though - procedural, refactored, precision, single shard, instanceless, seamless, the list of options goes on and on!
It's clearly my fault, because I gave them money and then demanded it back. Which is worse than not giving them money. Why? Because they could have kept it, if they had stuck to the original plan and 2014 release date.
To be fair I am interested to see their 'biome demo' and what they have done with upgraded planets tech. In SC Alpha 3.0 demo at Gamescom planet felt too random/noisy, although I suspect SC playerbase won't care about how realistic they will look, it is also outside of the scope of the game.
Also I hope they will show more of SQ42 and will set some release date for it. If I will buy anything from CIG, it's SQ42. Wing Commander games felt average for me - Freespace felt ways better - but I still found some good fun with them for sure.
Anyway, few days to go and we will see what's what.

They will show PG that will knock your socks off!! the best PG in the business, all hail the PG masters of CIG!!
It will be good to see the updated PG planet tech they have been talking about, particularly its going to be interesting for me to see what they've done and compare it to other PG tech like Infinity Battlescape, Space Engine, Elite and so on.
For all my doubts about the development of the game the tech part of it is still interesting.
The real test comes of course, not when they show the tech off, but when they release it to the public as a live build.

The thread that has more activity than all other Elite threads combined does not have ED devs, and community managers wondering why that one thread is generating so much interest and posts. Elite "fans" on that forum board post more about Star Citizen there than they do their actual game. You don't think its fishy that all the devs haven't noticed a single thing? Are the mods lying to Elite devs about what is happening in their own forum boards?
A thread that massive is hard to miss. Yet no Elite dev knows about it. Or if they know about it are letting it continue. So does that mean Elite devs are just no longer interested in their own game and what the Elite fans are talking about?
