Jameson memorial outfitting has gone !

Bounty hunt, as others have said. The same as you would do to remove a lockdown state in any other system, for any other faction.

I am, as i have said in my posts, in fact i have done over 5 mil in bounties to the detriment of my allied status with all but the PF factions in Shinrarta. As i said i just want to know for sure that this is not a bug and is intended so i can CARRY on BH to help turn the system back.

"Unintended effect of the game mechanics" = "Bug".

There you go.

It's pretty bad when even the mods are suggesting that your line of thinking here is wrong. Made my morning Ian, thanks for the lol.

It's Not a bug. You're working against players that are actively working to keep the system locked down. It's a tug of war. Whoever pulls harder will win.

To be fair, I think that statement was made with regard to lockdown affecting a CG, not general gameplay..

even in that particular circumstance I feel FD should not have intervened..

if it's intended to be a fully functioning BGS let it be so, the only manipulation should come from within the game imo.

You get it, and I agree. Fdev should never have intervened in my opinion, it created a lot of bad blood.

Biggest issue for me is not knowing how much of an effect my efforts (and the efforts of others) are having. Are we almost there? Are we nowhere near? Whats the cuurent state?

All we know is lockdown. How much do we have to do to lift it?

Understandable, unfortunately there's only one bgs "tick" per day when everything updates. Your best bet is to just carry on countering it until it clears.
It's a common complaint even amongst those of us who manipulate the bgs often. A better ui for it would be wonderful.

Yep, definitely could at least have cues from NPCs implying that the sickness is almost over or that food is on its way in case of outbreak and famine systems.

Best one can do is check the crime and bounty hunting reports in the local news. I checked earlier and bounties issued were roughly 1,000,000 credits in advance of bounties collected.

I see the discussion has ended up with "is it a bug"?

I've taken systems into lockdown before, with the purpose of unseating the controlling faction. Lockdown is a necessary state on the way to achieving that aim. It was designed as a transient state, which a controlling faction can either fight off or not, to then be led inexorably towards war.

In Shinrarta Dezhra, one cannot, however hard one tries, depose the Pilots Federation. This has been safeguarded by the developers, it is intentional. So in this case, lockdown is not a stepping stone to anything other than reverting to non-lockdown, and then back and forth again ad infinitum. Those who seek to lockdown Shinrarta Dezhra are effectively trolling the other users, there really is nothing else to be gained by it other than causing misery.

Is it a bug? Is it intended? Is it a reflection of poor design choices? Only FDev can answer the first two; I wouldn't pose the third to them, as it would be rather rude.

I would keep the opportunity there, perhaps, but enable permits to be revoked by the issuer, although not permanently. This would extend to all permit locked systems. If you would like to join that discussion, it is here:

First sensible suggestion in this thread imho.

As a player who uses Shinrarta Dezhra a lot as a home base, and the missing outfitting and commodity market is hurting me ... I for one am OK with this state of lockdown. It shakes things up, stops things getting "samey", forces players (including me) out of their comfort zone. I was wondering where else I could go to outfit my ships, and this lockdown has given me the perfect reason to find out.

I'm in the same boat. My backup is IX. Yeah it's a ways off but has good outfitting, ships, and commodities.

That is surely a good thing. I found all that out on the way to becoming Elite, so it isn't hard to go back to the same places as before. Li Yong-Rui is like a comfort-zone from comfort-zone, if you will. And for those who didn't, there are wonderful meta tools, eddb.io for example, so players need not even do the work for themselves.

could we go from "i need that outfitter" to "i like that system and want it operational again"?

that lockdown needs to leave.

Well, if you select Pilots Federation in the right hand menu, it says that Boom is currently in a pending state for them. Does this mean that the status will switch over to a boom state either on todays 'tick' or tomorrow morning when the servers are rebooted?

Only potential issue here I see that FD will start to fix those "bugs" too often to satisfy "vocal minority in forums"...
Who is this "Vocal Minority" you speak of? Iirc, there was a poll recently that was taken outside of forums and reddit. It pretty much nailed dead-center, that the forum population reflects the overall player base (by extrapolation ofcourse). There is no "vocal minority", just like there is no "silent majority." It's a strawman, nothing else.

I have no stakes in this discussion, as I am still working towards my first Elite...slowly, playing the game as it goes up by itself. This a very good example of why the C&P system in the game needs a thorough refresher though. Like others have said, there is no "in game" reason for bringing this system into Lockdown. There is only a reason from the outside, for those that play the players, not the game.
There needs to be some sort of consequence for bringing a system into lockdown, beyond being "wanted", which is a joke in this game. Allowing pilots who cause havoc in "their system" to dock and use all the facilities in "their system," makes absolutely no sense.

For the people doing BH there, I wish you luck. If you could sneak out a permit for me, I would be willing to help ;)
