Jameson memorial outfitting has gone !

Have the Devs responded to whether this is working as intended or a bug. I hope it is a bug, otherwise Jameson Memorial is going to be down constantly.

Look for wanted Commanders. There are several Cutters, two of them in wing. I asked them "why", one of them said... "U BH"

Go figure.
I'm not very proficient in L337-speak apparantly. I can only get "You Bounty Hunt" from that. If that's the correct translation, I must say the grammar leaves a bit to be desired.

FD seems to condone this stuff, stirs things up, keeps it lively but at whose expense?

The biggest issue is that if you want to make trouble it is really easy; a few CMNDR's agree to meet at a target and do their thing at agreed time(s), they can continue to do so with impunity because to respond, you would have to put a watch 24/7 on the affected target, if you knew it, and respond with a strong enough force to kill or drive off these miscreants. And it's like there are in witness protection because they can't be named and shamed. The deck is stacked in the favor of the "bad" actors. And even if you actively looking for them, how easy are they to find? They can find their targets at random, no problem.

The rest of us can basically wring our hands, protest over their acts and commiserate over the fate of the CMND's who were the victims.

I really don't know of a solution under the current circumstances, FD would need to change their stance regarding crime and punishment.

I am aware that their actions can be reversed but our responses are limited, indirect, to undoing their actions, which are direct; we can't easily get to the root of the problem.

Well, I'm on Xbox and patrolled for about an hour and found the entire system to be empty :(

Ended up going to Harm and getting my cutter a bit cheaper :)

I don't understand people who are insulting others for playing with the BGS .-.

If you have the time to insult people, go fix it instead.

Or go somewhere else that isn't so darned popular.

I don't go to Jameson anymore. Honestly, it is faster for me to find a system near me that has what I want HT/Ind with High population. Usually find what I need within 3 attempts.

P.S. I'm one of those gross commanders with a founder's permit by accident (no elite, just right gamma at the right time), so I shouldn't be going there anyway.

ok, repost in oríginal thread:

are we sure BH is the cure for the lockdown state? who said that?

for reference, i found this https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/193064-A-Guide-to-Minor-Factions-and-the-Background-Sim

edit: ok, with closer reading it's in there somewhere.
Yes. Bountyhunting reduces lockdown. I've done it in several systems before, plus the reverse in others.
The way to check the progress is to read the system news, crime report and bountyhunting report.

We have found actual player, I repeat, we have found actual ED player :)

I mean sure this must be a glitch, ED doesn't have much gameplay. Ohh what's that? States actually change stations? NERF IT.

First off Wenkman, i am not picking on your post, but using it as an example of why we need a really Idiot's guide to BGS. I have tried to read the links posted on here for the BGS, but find myself more confused now than i was before i started. I am personally keen to kick Jamison back into operating mode, but i don't know if what i am doing by BH everything bar the PF, is the thing to do? I might be making things worse.

In the Real World if a country/state/county has a problem it usually explains itself pretty well in what it needs to rectify the problem....So on that thinking why can't the Stations news reports come out clearly and state something along these lines " The system/Station is in Lockdown because we have some .......... (Insert problem)" To help the System/Station return to normal we ask for all cmdrs to ........... (Insert solution)?

Really Fdev, is that to much to ask, instead we get a minefield of gobbledegook in the BGS threads, and cryptic messages in the Station news?

Then outside we have Cmdrs clearly raising hell inside the "No Fire Zone" without ste station doing naff all! I actually don't have an issue with what they are doing, it's their way of playing, i don't like it, but i try to get around the way they play. I would just like the game to be true to itself and a No Fire Zone actually mean a No         Fire Zone, somewhere safe for us non combat players to escape to.

If you are one of the Cmdrs who were reakin havoc outside Jamison last night, why don't you give us cmdrs time to strike up a chat? I remember the warnings that i used to have in this game when interdicted by a another Cmdr.

Anyway if someone who has the time can explain to me in 'Forrest Gump style' the BGS behind the lockdown at Shinrarta then i would be wholly greatful.

Yes, and the logic too. There isn't a way to flip Shinrarta, so if they are targeting people for trying to stop the lockdown, the motivation seems purely to be to goad and annoy by keeping the system in lockdown.

It's pretty frustrating, for me at least, so well done those kids - go the Neanderthals! What's also irritating is the assumption that this is all about outfitting. There is no mission board and no commodities market. Shinrarta is a rare goods location, forming part of my trade loop; I'm allied with all the factions bar one, as I based myself there for RP reasons.

Just to be clear, like many others I spent weeks in game, which is many months IRL, reaching Elite. I know where Li Yong-Rui space is, I sometimes still go there for outfitting and shipyards. That is because I, you know, played the game a lot in order to reach Elite.

As for the "U BH" gem, well, I do everything in the game other than ganking. It suits my approach, and it's almost like the game was designed that way.

When I first docked at Jameson, I was sweetly surprised by the collegiate atmosphere. People chatting in the station, arranging PvP duels, talking about trade routes, load outs and heaven knows what else. It was summed up when one Commander arrived and over the local coms said, "Wow. This place is amazing!"

It was amazing, at one point. Not anymore. Now it is dominated by a small group whose only aim in life is to aggravate people who are just quietly enjoying themselves. It's a shame, so as long as the Shinrarta permit is irrevocable, regardless of extreme criminality, Shinrarta will remain like a sour community goal, populated in Open by people who cannot string a sentence together.

O tempora o mores!

Again, truly disheartening to see how much passion, effort and time some people put into making others gaming miserable.

Yes. And missions. And commodities. And the system cannot be flipped, so this is all for 'lulz'.

Also, no words (or better, actions) from FD about this situation. Do they understand that if they would sit quietly this lockdown would happen again? Oh wait, it actually HAPPENED AGAIN!
