TL : DR pretty much everything.

PVP/PVE slider is missing in the list.
Probably even more than that, but that's what I just remembered.
It was a big thing advertised heavily back in the days, now completely put under the carpet.

Just listening the the Planet Coaster stream that's on at the moment. Dev on the stream said said that there's no mocap in it*, all the animation was done by 6 people and if you played it all back-to-back it would take over 2.5 hours to play it all.

*that confirms btw that the mocap jobs listed on the Frontier website some time ago were most certainly ED related.
Planet Coaster was done by animating from video footages (I know for a fact as I follow few of Planet Coaster developers/artists and they were filmed for doing animation skeletons). Planet Coaster definitely didn't require mocap at level ED will.

Officially, Outsider is 'canned'. All assets and software is in possession of FD. Can open world conspiracy game still be viable? Heck yeah. Although it would require serious financing for considerable time. If FD will ever do it, they mostly will do working together with some solid publisher.

I hope they got some good experience from doing it that's applicable to the "space legs" expansion for Elite... or maybe it will get Star Marine'd like ...erm.... Star Marine? ;)

I would actually love it if Frontier did a SQ42 style cast trailer for some minor content, but instead of the Hollywood "A-listers" it was extras from Holby City, Casualty or The Bill, and they had to explain underneath who each member of cast was, and some of them were just appearing in panto and stuff.

Ha! Great idea.

For all the talk of A-list stars in S42, they don't... actually have any. A-listers are people who can get an entire project funded just by their participation. The top bankable names, the ones who draw eye-watering salaries and have the biggest box office hits... not just genre favorites and cult luminaries. Gary Oldman is massively talented and a renowned character actor, but his name alone doesn't put butts in seats... and his name doesn't draw A-list salary. He's amazing, but he's not Matt Damon-DiCaprio-etc style A-list. We all love Mark Hamill, but he never managed to parlay Star Wars into an A-list career like Harrison Ford did, he went on to lots of B movies and a terrific life as a voiceover guy.

Gillian Anderson? C'mon. TV stars aren't A list, particularly ones who only had cult fame decades ago. Look at the kinds of films she does... lead in Robot Overlords? That puts her on par with Jennifer Lawrence or Scarlett Johanson? I know our little niche considers her a nostalgic pinup, but A list? Snicker.

They have a fun cast of genre stars that reads like every single nerdy fanboy fantasy casting thread ever, but nothing remotely A-list.

I think it would need a re-work from the ground up at this point. :( But IIRC, they cooked up a new method of animation for it, and there may well be some cunning AI in there: I imagine we'll see chunks of it at some point, even if we don't recognise it as such.

Ha ha. Imagine sitting in the pilot seat, look to your left and right, only to see your co-pilot and navigator are the Chuckle Brothers. (Look them up non UK people)

If radio sidewinder are able to get Brian Blessed in a sound room to record his "Brabens Alive?" link, I'm sure Frontier can do it. Imagine if they had a standard rookie pilot hero character but with Blessed's booming voice "WATCH OUT CRAZY DOG. HE'S ON YOUR SIX...HAHAHAHA! OH CALAMITY! OH HOWL, HOWL, HOWL!! BLBLBLBLBLB!!"

That would be amazing. I can hear him now. "ARE YOU !"

The true heros of Black Mesa?

"You want us to increase the shields? No problem, front or rear? Did he say the front shields? No the rear? Silly you", "silly me", "right to you", "too much, to me...", "to you"

Not that I don't buy that list, but I positively hate it when people compile such things and don't have a reference for everything. Arguing based on it is arguing based on the person posting it and if they're not honest or accurate about it, it makes you look like a buffoon. Not to mention that in order to double check everything, you have to put in a good fraction of the time yourself that they needed to compile that list.

To be fair, it's a long read as it is: With links, it would make a small, very depressing novel.

So, in order to avoid to add one more deceptive advertising to the huge pile that Star Citizen already has, could yo let us know how the demo worked on this spec:

https://forums.robertsspaceindustries.com/discussion/comment/5100272/#Comment_5100272

"Windows Vista (64 bit), Windows 7 (64 bit) – Service Pack 1, Windows 8 (64 bit)
DirectX 11 graphics card with 1GB Video RAM
Quad core CPU
8GB Memory"

Because, then, maybe they can start to prove what you claimed that they did.

Haha, those specs suggest you can run it on a $30 GPU and a 10-year old CPU. Thats not false advertising at all...
