New guy here, but really interested in the lore and mysteries here.

Have anyone checked if the sound signal changes if you shoot at the beams with engineered weapons? (Healing beam etc)?

Not done yet, but I do not have many expectations about it...
Anyway, welcome to the madness CMDR;)

Just went to an alien crash site, and got several messages that my ship was being scanned. What would happen if I had the right cargo?

Nothing.
You're just experiencing the usual behavior of the Unknown Artefacts, scattered around there: they scan you and make a nice drawing of your ship. Check the Front Page for details.

But lets not forget they DO keep scanning. I don't think we should rule this as solved just yet. Maybe there IS something that need to be carrying or the Probe is looking for.

(This follows on from a video of the ancient relic by Ericlas)

Either FD are messing with us or there's a puzzle encoded in the light of the ancient relic:

https://youtu.be/FnWfe0M9D6w

The video is a debug cam shot where the camera is inside the relic, and then video enhanced using VLC with hue/brightness all the way down and contrast all the way up.

Does anyone know a quick way to figure out if a video like this has a repeating pattern? Going frame by frame is an exercise in terminal boredom.

My original video has a bit over 9 minutes worth, but I've spent a few days transcribing size changes and only covered around 25 seconds worth of it :) It never goes above 12 frame increases/decreases in a row, and occasionally has a few frames in a row where there's no change. It could just be random light to make the thing look cool, but we should check thoroughly.

Does anyone know how to convert a 60fps mp4 into a 60fps avi? VLC keeps converting it to 25fps on me, and the software I have that allows frame forward AND frame backwards insists on AVI or a few other non useful formats.

VLC only allows frame forwards and I don't think it's 100% consistant.

I've been reading this thread for a few weeks and finally got back from Jaques so I can see the ruins myself.
One strange thing I noticed yesterday that didn't happen the previous day was the towers did not fully rise. They only came out of the ground high enough for the crystals to show.

Any one else seen that?

Been around Orion's Folly looking for marks from the final launch. None. I was looking for a vitrified crater around the settlement from nuclear blasts or burned soil from rocket exhaust...

So, I think maybe the main ship was left in orbit and only a few crewmen went down to the planet.

Maybe it is not fully powered. Have you turned something off on your Scarab? Your shields maybe?
Or it reacts on stars in the sky. Maybe for transmission purposes.

What are the chances this is supposed to be viewed as a 3D Spectrogram?
a 2D View will only show Some of the Information.

I have looked Everywhere for a Windows program to do this but all I keep seeing are MAC Programs :(

Any chance theres a MAC user here with the Program for the Job

What program - I have a MacBook Pro I could put to task...

Freemake Video Converter should do the trick, checked settings, see screenie

Nope, SRV was fully powered I believe, actually at one point I couldn't thrust, took a while for me to figure out why, no pips to engines! :(

Also I wasn't the only one there.
That's 2 other SRV's and a ship all looking at it.
