General questions to the forum

The Thumb nail show a Marine vaulting an obstacle, was the in the demo, I have watched it twice had didn't notice it?

In the videos, in the first person views when they bring the weapons up to use the sights it centres under the chin piece of the helmet, and the head still looking forward straight and level, in standard FPS fashion.

I thought however the 1st and 3 person modelling was the same, so wouldn't that mean we should see the weapon being held there in the idle of the body, rather than the head tilting left, cheek to stock, to bring the eyes in line with the sights on the shoulder-arms?

Pshht you ask dangerous questions one could think you dont have any faith in SC...just nod and buy a polaris.

The jumping (in this case vaulting over obstacles) and possibly other stuff(like other weapons, animations, movements or even the cover system) was not active in this version.

Intergalactic Aerospace Expo, Day Two: RSI

Star Citizen: Galactic Tour RSI Ships

A Word from Roberts Space Industries

It’s hard to think that it’s been over 800 years since RSI revealed the Zeus and forever altered Human history by making space travel available to the masses. A lot has changed since those early days, but RSI’s commitment to producing excellent and reliable spacecraft has not.

From our award-winning Aurora to the iconic Constellation, RSI has a spaceship to fit your needs. Yet, we don’t let our extensive experience keep us from innovating. Constant upgrades and improvements have kept RSI ships on the cutting edge for centuries. To put it simply, we know what it takes to make a great ship because nobody’s done it as long as us.

RSI is thrilled to be a part of the Intergalactic Aerospace Expo to not only celebrate our proud history of “Delivering the Stars” but to show you all we have planned for the years to come.

Where are they now?

The Constellation Aquila is undergoing her final space trials with plans to launch for Star Citizen Alpha 3.0. The RSI Orion mining platform is still in the concept stage, but will enter production as we roll out larger mining mechanics. The current set of Aurora starters will receive a polish pass to bring them to the current standard for flight ready ships and the remaining two Constellation models, the Taurus transport and the Phoenix luxury ship, are scheduled to have their flight passes in the coming months.

I kinda like the Ilfonic one there - The CIG one was a 'made for publicity' video while the Ilfonic one was live streamed.

Looking at the anniversary live stream of SM compared to the Ilfonic version I would say Ilfonic win, and if they had another year to work on it would be even better.

But it's a fair base to work from - hope it gets better.

Boy, do Titanfall 2 and IW wipe the floor with Star Marine. Especially TF2 with its awesome movement system. Been playing some more multiplayer today and I gotta say Respawn did an amazing job and delivered an incredibly polished game.

This demo looked like an indie game.

There's only one TF2 and that's Team Fortress 2!

Absolutely. Compared to Titanfall2 SC incredibly mundane, the very definition of a generic ~2012 shooter. They really should have focused on making one good game (space ship combat) and not 5 bad ones.

They've even ripped the hacking off Deus-Ex MD:) CR just tacks in whatever he thinks will appeal to the widest audience at any given time, totally defeats the purpose of a crowdfunded 'niche' game. AAA publishers do all this stuff 100 times better already.

That's seriously disingenous of them - after the live stream we then get this spit'n'polish video in which a player just happens to switch camera and does a vault just once convenient like? Sorry that's just obviously staged to show "look look it was in there!" though he is floating in space when he does it. I'll swallow that a bit if there's a link to it happening in the actual stream otherwise that as fishy as could be.

Ilphonic's stuff looks great still - interesting seeing the quality of original footage used for each. no bias.
