Maybe I'm being dense here, but how does that out Sandi exactly?

I think when you look at the thread at the whole, she praises how CIG marketing works and how they do thing, when someone agreed that he loves it too...she thanked him? As it is all her work.

They're discussing how totally great and awesome CIG's Top Gear Grand Tour-ripoff videos are, and she takes credit.

Well if I were to be pedantic I might say there was a small chance she was saying thanks for acknowledging the genius of my posting about the marketing as opposed thanks for acknowledging my marketing genius!

That aside the ABH forum user is laughably fake - SA even found the site the avatar picture was borrowed from - and it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if it were Sandi.

I'm not convinced that forum user is who people think it is. Weren't they probated or banned from the RSI forums not so long ago? I can't imagine that going over well with Ms Roberts.

Just another astroturfing whiteknight in my opnion.

Doesn't really matter - what it clearly isn't is an authentic average level headed backer.

And it clearly isn't the person represented in the picture.

A contender for the top five most annoying though!

I don't think that not being 'the person represented in the picture' is anything to complain about - or if it is, there are a lot of people on this forum doing the same thing. As for whether it is Sandi, I'd say that a single ambiguous post doesn't really prove it one way or another. And frankly it is of little significance anyway. What actually matters is the 134 million dollars, or whatever it is they have currently raised, what they are spending it on, and whether they can come up with any sort of product remotely deserving the expenditure. This really isn't about Sandi. Or Chris Roberts himself. It is about what is looking more and more like an out-of-control fantasy hype money machine pushed along by the backers themselves - many of which are quite capable of churning out ludicrous puffery entirely gratis. If Sandi is creating bogus accounts to do what the 'citizens' are doing anyway without her help, she is rather wasting her time...

I tried asking the same thing (among others) that I did not see explained in any of his missives and he ignored my post.
I do mostly mobile games/apps as an occupation and I while I don't consider myself at all to be of untold programming skillz, I cannot understand what he really means. I put it on me not being old/experienced enough - so I asked him to elaborate technically.

I ignored it because it was already addressed. If you don't know the difference between a float and integer, then it's conceivable that you don't know the difference between a 32-Bit and a 64-Bit value as it pertains to how large you can make a box in world space. That's on you. I'm not here to give programming lessons. Which is why, unlike CIG programmers - including Ben Parry - I don't obfuscate, nor am I vague about anything. I try to be as verbose as possible. I'm old school like that.

Then you'd be a pedantically (Ho Lee Crap! That's totally a word!) wrong, because what she was responding to, was excerpted. :D

Wrong. It is 100% about them; because they are two of the top execs behind the on-going effort to scam gamers. When the officials and lawyers eventually step in, you think they are going to just ignore those two and move right on along? Uhm, no.

I agree - when the person represented in the avatar is someone famous or the avatar is clearly not meant to represent the poster - or is some cartoon or something.

I mean I'm reasonably certain you are not actually constructed of polonium.

Where someone borrows a photo as an avatar from someone's obscure online photo collection that seems more disingenuous.

Anyway - I appear to have mistakenly created the impression that I am in some way more bothered about this than I ought to be and for that I apologise!

Wait a minute...are you saying Mu77ley isn't a guitar wielding cat?

Aw, man. There goes my dream of meeting Polonium Man someday. [sad]

SC is still not out. Ron Glass died.

Today is full of disappointments. [ugh]

Of course not. He's Dastardly's Dog.

Saddened to hear that news.

But there is a good bit of news out there. When Donald Trump get the keys to the Oval Office, Vladimir Putin will have the run of the place. You still might get your chance to meet a Polonium man.

Star Citizen made it into the Reddit scam watchdog thread, and shockingly, this thread is still a thing and the Usual Suspects are all but ignoring it. Not for long though; I just tweeted it :D

Quick disclaimer: I am speaking as a fan of the game and as someone who is hopeful that the game is a success.

Every post that isn't outright praise has to start with this disclaimer. The absence of said disclaimer means you hate Star Citizen and want it to fail just because you're evil.
