No - I'm not joking - NINE MINUTES AND ONE SECOND!
I spoke a while back about hoping we'd get a whole range of skill levels competing in this race, everything from a 1 to a 10. Well that's a 10!
Cmdr Relooops totally smashes the 10 minute barrier (10 minute barrier? Hell I didn't even know the damn thing existed, I only knew about the 15 minute barrier) to claim 1st place in a buggy who's name might be "Ready to Serve" (or was that just a salutation? having some translation difficulties here). Just incredible ... congratulations!
Can anyone possibly challenge that? Well maybe ... only a few hours after getting Relooops time I received Tannik Seldon's submission and it's another stunner - 9m 51s in a buggy called "Cratermaker". Brilliant driving again, I genuinely would not have believed that times like these were possible.
I somehow doubt we've heard the last of these two. Tannik will be desparately trying to conquer the "brutal" hill climb back in order to shave those last 50 seconds off and Cmdr Relooops must be looking over his shoulder and wondering if his position is quite as unassailable as it might have seemed (plus, I don't know about him but that 1 second? that'd bug the hell out of me).
Meanwhile, back amongst the mortals ... after much tumbling (and some absolutely brilliant race commentary as always) we've finally got an entry from Cmdr Inga Stevenson. A perfectly decent time of 21m 53s which lands the feisty "Prospector 1" in 5th place.
And speaking of tumbling, ufo.mesh has found the perfect name for his SRV and rolled the "Tumbleweed" into 6th position with a time of 22m 27s.
Brilliant racing everyone! Have a great day today and (unless I do a 2nd update later in the day) I'll be back with a new scoreboard update tomorrow.
Drive safely (LOL, yeah right).
