They increased the scope years ago. Your 'initial plan' was from 2012 for 2014. We're almost in 2017 here and they fail to meet thee deadlines they said a few months ago. After the scope was increased. After failing to meet there 2015 deadline. After failing to meet their initial 2016 deadline. Will all their 'foundational work' and 'now we can really move forward' sloganeering. And they missed the new, correct, accurate, based on facts, totally-not-a-scam deadline as they always missed them: spectacularly. They said it was almost ready, just a few days, they were oh so close to showing it months ago (ofcourse, years ago if you count the original claims). Months later they are still oh so close, will release soon etc etc. Either they lie or they do not know the difference between something that is about to be released in a few days in 2014 2015 2016 and something that needs weeks, months or years of work before it is ready. Your 'recent situation' have been 'recent' for years. Its no excuse anymore.

I am sure at some point they will release something both buggy and mediocre. Could be next week. It will be pathetic, you'll know it and you'll pretend 'its only alpha, it will get better, give it time, big scope, very difficult, best in history, new frontiers!'. But you know better: A $140 million dollars have been thrown away on a game that will not deliver a fraction of its promises, and what it will deliver will be lagging behind its competition. As everything CR does has always been. Too late, too little, too crappy, too buggy, too much tacticool and too little content, too much Big Words, not enough to back it up.

Ah well, have fun with SM. SC fans will push themselves to play it for dozens or hundreds of hours even though they'll never touch such a mediocre generic shooter with a ten-foot pole if it wasnt produced by their Messiah. Anyway, lets forget about SM and 2.6. Its all about 3.0, we all knew that right? Thats the ultimate patch that will make everything okay. And it will definitely come Q1 2017, even though it was supposed to arrive right about now. Star Citizen 3.0 is just round the corner and is about to blow everyone's socks off before the end of the year!

Squadron 42 is the toast of the gaming world and is eagerly anticipated by the adoring public after the excellent reveal of the opening levels, in-depth gameplay segments and the totally unparalleled excellence of the motion captured performances shown at CitizenCon recently!

And 2.6, with the much-heralded Star Marine module is, get this, just a few days away from being dropped into the waiting hands of those faithful backers too!

Hmm, I guess I must be some sort of soothsayer or sumfing! ;)

I doubt that many, even amongst the most ardent and optimistic supporters, is prepared to wait endlessly for any game to arrive. I'm sure everyone has their cut off point. See for example, alas, Limit Theory - and all credit to Josh, he stopped taking money ages ago!

So it begs the serious question, how much more time and money is anyone prepared to spend waiting?

Another 5 years and another $150M? 2 years and another $60M? Or maybe 10 years and another $300M?

From what we've seen so far 'wait and be patient' doesn't seem to be working. So what's next? Buy an Elba?

As an aside - I'm really struggling to feel any excitement for the production of yet another FPS shoot-em-up when I had thought CIG were supposed to be making a space game!? :rolleyes:

It's an old image, though, made way back when the Bishop video was released. By the way, in the same tweet he says he's gonna destroy what's left of the gray market, but somehow I doubt that his next blog post/tweet or whatever will change anything. People who believe him don't need any convincing, and his detractors won't believe him anyway.

I don't have PTU access on my launcher - I can't remember if I have to do something to "activate" it, or download something, or if I need an invite.
Whatever, I don't have access to try out the FM changes.

Nah, someone on SA was being trolled by a "feature" of their CMS. You can change the filename to whatever you want, for example:
