What does your heart tell you?

Thus far, people throwing money at concepts for the past few years, thinking it will make the game get finish faster

On the contrary "speed" and "get it done fast" is the exact reason SC backers gives CIG more money. Time to make the game as great as possibly is what SC backers want. We want to give CR "TIME" to make the game the best space sim ever, that wont happen in just a few years.

No one likes that CR has gotten far to use to " not showing until its polish" mentality. Sure i want to see more progress in SQ42 but I am more interested in the PU. We have seen alot of 3.0 but zero of SQ42, this upsets some and understandingly so.

That's the problem - nothing they have proclaimed in their "monthly reports" has ever actually arrived in a meaningful way ;)

alpha 2.0?

Well Its better for them to take their time than to rush something incomplete and without meaningful engaging gameplay that players will get bored at quickly.
One of the reasons for going crowdfunding and the constant backing is so that they don't have to make a rushed release of the game. Even if it takes more time getting the systems in place will help them in the long run, it's a marathon not a sprint.

Chris & Tony Zurovec (PU director) talk abit about that in this clip above.

I love hearing Tony Z talk about the AI and gameplay. Makes me more excited for the project.

This part always puzzles me a bit. Chris Roberts signed on the end of the stretch goal campaign at 65 USD MM stating in several ocasions that the game was funded and even if the backing was to stop he would be able to finish it off as promised given the healthy reserve.

Roberts words in those ocasions seem to confirm that indeed he had all he needed to not rush an incomplete game at all already.

So what is different now that requires that "constant backing" that you seem to be justifying as required? Your words mean an implicit "throw the towel" and acknowledgement that Roberts statement was not true then and that CIG needs more funds to actually not rush it now.

Unlikley, starting at 8:50 CR talks specifically about how what they have been working on this year in prep for 3.0 game systems are the core systems that need to be in place to make professions work.

Lulzbuckets!!!!

CR has talked specifically about, well, pretty much anything you can possibly imagine, for years - and still not delivered any of it ;)

Right after the end of the KS and whne the new website went up funds increase dramatically and consistently. There was a vote cast on the RSI website asking backers do they want the game bigger and better, continuing the strecth goals. The vote was a resounding "YES make the game bigger, better, and take your time doing so". So CIG did

True, the game is still under development.

No, no. I was referring to the end of the stretch goal campaign already. Not the Kickstarter.

Oh ok. After the stretch goals campaign CR stated that funding will be coming in thru Ship sells and ship concept sells. I cant say if the scope of the project increased after that but we do know that CIG was primary working on development piplines to streamline development. That took a long time. CIG is currently in alot of asset generation, which is why they have more to show weekly then they have before. This all takes time, and time is money, they need more money.

There is no point in generating assets if you don't have a game to put them in ;)

As far as I know, the scope didnt grow, at least officially, after the last stretch goal towards the end of 2014, at 65 million. The main scope growth was, as you referred to, from kickstarter to end of stretch goals. There is nothing else in CIG´s portal that lists any other new scope beyond that that I am aware of after Stretch goals ended. With the possible exception of the accelerated procedural tech.

... they need more money.

Hence why now, close to 140 USD MM (up from those 65), needing more money is very puzzling.

When I was watching Bojack Horseman today, one line stuck in my mind: When you're wearing rose-tinted spectacles, red flags just look like flags.

I can't think why I mention that now :p!

That stream summary video made me very glad I skipped the full thing. The best thing about it was someone's pink hair
