So what is different now that requires that "constant backing" that you seem to be justifying as required? Your words mean an implicit "throw the towel" and acknowledgement that Roberts statement was not true then and that CIG needs more funds to actually not rush it now.
I love hearing Tony Z talk about the AI and gameplay. Makes me more excited for the project.
Oh come now, after 5 years of all this excitement, how can you be any *more* excited? I'm surprised you've not exploded by now.
Why wouldn't that excite anyone?
Because it has had zero results so far in SC.
No. I actually deliver work product![]()
oh, like Star Marine?
Naah - I do really boring hardware stuff that you'll never see and won't know it even exists until something else goes horribly wrong![]()
Why wouldn't that excite anyone that is interested in playing star Citzen?
On the contrary "speed" and "get it done fast" is the exact reason SC backers gives CIG more money. Time to make the game as great as possibly is what SC backers want. We want to give CR "TIME" to make the game the best space sim ever, that wont happen in just a few years.
All this money vs speed stuff from CIG and fans is just hogwash. First CR claimed that increasing the scope won't delay the game. Anything longer than 3 years and it gets stale, remember? Made no sense but fans believed him. Then he said they're fully funded, but more money would make the game come out faster. Again, made no sense, and you don't have to have read the mythical man-month to know that nine pregnant women don't deliver a baby in one month.
Now we are at "we need more monet *and* more time". Which would be fine, if the progress shown was significant, and if you hadn't told us how stupid we are for predicting the current situation over 3 years ago.
Oh for the wonder of a fixed plan that's stuck to.
I'm all for adapting your plan. But you gotta start with one. Preferably a realistic one. Dual Universe is making the same mistake btw.
Sorry but the ship means nothing if you have nothing to do. They can add 500 ships, it wouldn't matter at all. Unless they add the basic gameplay mechanics, there is no need for more ships. The gameplay, if we can call it that, in the PU will be exactly the same.
There is no point whatsoever in adding more ships without any game mechanics for it.
Simple as that, more ships are not a sign of progress. Not in this moment, not in this stage of development.
