So if we throw out 890 Jump and the last batch of Javelin and Idris, we get only confirmed cash-only sales, and you can't CCU those. That gives us 800 Javelins 1300$ each (1,040,000$ total) and 200 Idrises, 2700$ each (540,000$), for total of 1000 ships and 1,580,000$. Those are cash-only sales. With total earned during this sale being 6,738,501$, sales of cash-only Javelins and Idrises, confirmed whale-generated sales, equal 23.44% total. One fourth of income from that sale were from confirmed cash-only sales of 1000 ships. The rest of income was generated either by normal players, or whales who melted some of their ships and paid the rest with cash. One way or another they did have to pay 890$ 1500$ or 3000$ (non-discounted prices) in total, to convert their ships into those limited offers. So either they became whales by buying those ships, or became whales by buying enough ships to accumulate enough credits to buy those ships.
So, a correction - sales of expensive ships in this sale generated between 23.44% to 42.5% (upper limit if the last allowance of capital ships and all 890 Jumps were bought with cash) of income during that anniversary. How does that prove your claims? One thousand ships (2.88% of ships sold during that sale) - one fourth of income.

Ostriching, plain and simple.
For those who don't want to go to reddit, let's take a journey back to PAX East 2015:

With regards to Squadron 42 the original release date was 2014 as per Kickstarter delivery date and further confirmed in a few other occasions even after CIG had already decided to increase the original scope, here is one:

"February 19, 2014
Eric Peterson: What's the plan of action for [Squadron 42]?
Phil Meller: Well, the first ten missions for the end of [2014], fingers crossed. So we'll [start] with those, and then, in the background, we'll have other teams working on the followup ten; You know, ten, there are segments of ten missions every month, after."
Which means it has been delayed 3 times already, one per year roughly.
Also it was promised as a polished, final/released game: https://forums.robertsspaceindustries.com/discussion/comment/1782853/#Comment_1782853
"Hi Bulldog,
Yep, the plan is to give you guys a final polished S42. Alpha and Beta access are absolutely on for Star Citizen in terms of the different modules (Hangar, Dogfighting, Ground Based combat etc.) but S42 will be a standalone game given free to all those who have backed before Star Citizen launches. Having said that, as S42 will be using all the elements from these different modules, and improving the game based on the communities feedback as they are released for Alpha, you will all be making a contribution to making S42 a much better game. What we won't be letting people see early is the plot / story and missions, as we want it to be a ground breaking, immersive experience for everyone when they first play the campaign and are introduced to the level of quality we want to bring to the universe.
Hope that helps,
Cheers,
Erin"
I assume significantly more than half of the backers from the US have voted for Trump. Can someone start a pool in their forums to check that?

One of the things that winds me up is the constant cry of "It was not a promise, it was only an estimate/target/internal date". Of course that's what they are, but thats what the dates given by every software developer are. Most other developers manage to get somewhere close to those dates though. CIG never do. I don't understand how anyone can see this as OK.
This company is like a Trump campaign. Just when you thought things wouldn't get any more bizarre, they go the extra crappy mile
But currently there is a big difference - Trump won...but can SC release the game ?!Also like the Trump campaign, it seems to continually grow and steamroll over all opposition despite a host of critics continually sniping from the sidelines and repeatedly predicting its imminent failure.
That's what so disingenuous about the whole thing.
They know full well if they say "it's a goal for end 2016" or whatever other they come out with (1000's of players in an instance) loads of backers will parrot that as fact until that date/event passes/fails then we get what we're seeing now "it was only an internal date/estimate/guesstimate/fever dream/goal etc."
This way they can hint at absolutely anything to get the desired hoodwinking effect and keep the hype train running then claim all innocent faced "well we never promised!" when it inevitably fails to materialise.

The Agent on SA has his listening glass against the wall again.
hello, some of this is prob rehashed
2017 is now looking like the last full operational year for CIG (*from the perspective of 2 people who recently left)
several office/staff moves (including the Brno move, disco lando, ben, etc) are still planned
roberts joked at one point "the cheap labor must flow"
the "must deliver" deadline is still march/q1 of 2017 for the sqlude
might be much less than what was planned to be released (think less than an hour of story content, highly repetitive missions to pad playtime, grind, etc)
sqlude will include the new footage shot earlier this year of hamill
direction/management are being shuffled around, some people with no experience are now in charge of dozens of employees
several employees and execs are now gone, including cashing out on promised bonuses or other monies when they left
motion capture problems include missing payments to studios where work was done (backend, most likely)
"If [we] didn't have money in the tank for refunds, delay. Delay, delay, delay. Promise, then delay. That was standard, yes."
had to cut one or several major characters from SQ42
additional mocap is required "to have the story make any sense" thanks to "constant" changes to the script
entire maps, levels, mocap, VA, music and SFX have been thrown out, reworked and thrown out again
what was promised for 2.6, especially networking, won't be in until late Jan/Feb 2017 at the earliest (maybe midyear)
3.0 networking is a massive, complete mess and won't be anywhere ready for 2017
"They are walking the design back on a massive scale. Try and get a refund."
^^ moma that one is for you because the guy who said it, lol, just lol
crunch time has continued now for over six months, some people over a year
if you're in this project for anything over $40, get a refund. get a refund like now. after 2.6 releases to the PU you're going to have a hard damn time getting anything back unless you pledged for the SQ42 package only
