Off topic, but I think the draw of multi-crew will be doing stuff with friends in the same ship. Sounds obvious but I think there will be much fun to be had (outside any game mechanics) from just being in the same ship and experiencing the same journey and events. Sure, driving down the motorway can be boring, but with a good friend in the car its far more interesting and you make your own fun, share stories etc. This part imo has been somewhat overlooked. That said I hope there are some interesting mechanics outside it as well as missions and combat that require the multi-crew ship.
Combat wise I suspect this can be done by beefing up the opposition and getting a decent balance against NPC's that require all of you working together to defeat NPC multicrew ships. Then there's maybe some missions involving the SRV, SLF and main ship. Single player versions already exist in so far as you have to knock out defences and generators etc, before downloading data. No reason that time limit cant be reduced and have one person/people in SRV(s) doing a task, whilst someone in a SLF takes out point defences and the pilot of the ship keeps an NPC ship from taking people out. Maybe when legs come this expands to entering buidings and taking data whilst your buddies stop any incoming enemies.

Not only multicrew/coop is one of the biggest features of Star Citizen but one of the biggest reasons why it has gained such popularity. That and the fact that you are a person and not a ship aka space legs. These 2 combined with it's MMORPG sense of living universe gives it the edge against any other space sim out there now. And that's why it gets so much attention from gamers/gaming media.
Star Citizen is one of the most anticipated games out there and the people waiting/wishing for it's collapse will just have to keep on doing just that lol a bit of salt a bit of hate and the popcorn lulzbucket keeps filled.
And the best thing is that this is just the tip of the iceberg, the hard-core gamers are engaged and the masses will keep joining in as the game gets more and more fleshed out.
For ex. Star Citizen will cater to the masses much more than Eve or Elite for instance just like Wing Commander did because it's not hostage of "science" and the technical/financial limitations of Cobra Engine/Frontier - CCP/Trinity.
Chris Roberts knows what moves players and how to make them feel connected to the world, to make it engaging and believable.
The "eminent collapse"[squeeeee] has been preached since what? 2014?
"This year will make or break Star Citizen" kek.
"90 days top".
"Finished, The End". And what's funny is that the haters eat this spoon fed fud narrative year after year rubbing their hands out of joy at any extrapolation of "negative news" thinking
"This is it ! They are doomed now, they will never recover from this, it's all downhill now". But of course that's all in their heads, the reality is that Star Citizen keeps on going and getting better and better with each update. With more inter-connected studios/devs, more players/backers and more money generated per year, and ofc more salt from the same sources. Truly one of the best soap opera's of gaming scene for sure.
Meanwhile, grasping for straws we get ridiculous humorous statements like:
- "Star Citizen engine is old and graphics will be bad at the time it releases" - [rolleyes]
Reality: Star Citizen is the best looking MMORPG in existence that gets better with each update AND it's Engine keeps getting updates and already does things that no other engine can do currently. [big grin]
