US time zone maybe.

"SC was just never all that popular with the twitch audience. It was always struggling to beat the odd nostalgia stream of Doom or SMB"

Being that CIG are developing 2 full games and 2 mini games within a game (AC, SM) and when looking at the history of game development I would say they are right on track.

The development cycle of Final Fantasy XV began in 2006, when it was a PlayStation 3-exclusive spin-off titled Final Fantasy Versus XIII, which lasted approximately ten years.

Cant yet Rep you Slick, but yeah... double standard is staggering combined with the usual intellectual dishonesty of SA graphs that supposedly show "something" [rolleyes]
You make it sound like a good idea to develop 4 interdependent (mini) games from scratch with no experienced team and no underlying engine.

What??
Which bit of the "graph" is dishonest then? Perhaps you could break it down for us?

I will leave this decision to the professionals and not self proclaimed game developing forum warriors.

I don't think I will be able to find a link, but there was some mention of a terraformable gas giant somewhere in the SC universe.
Develop the tech far enough, and you can compress a huge planet out of a Gas Giant in Master of Orion 2. Maybe Chris played that back in the day.
But if CIG is doing something groundbreaking, something that has never been attempted before, how can we deign to compare it with precedents?
No. They're developing one game, with a special single-player campaign sidetrack to get more out of both the engine and the art assets, much like you see from the likes of DiCE and Infinity Ward/Treyarch.Being that CIG are developing 2 full games and 2 mini games within a game (AC, SM) and when looking at the history of game development I would say they are right on track.

The only comparison we can logically make is the amount of time it takes to develop the product compared to other product of the same nomenclature.
Sorry I don't discuss goon related material outside of SA as I'm from the opinion that "pigs should keep their playtime in the mud" and not bring it "outside".
Star Citizen currently has 221 viewers on Twitch.
Elite Dangerous has 201.
Not bad for a boring & shallow niche game released years ago vs a behemoth of the gaming industry that just gave access to a new content patch to a lot of it's playerbase.
Whilst I do sympathise with your plight a part of me feels strangely re-assured that the bugs are still there.
It's what the game has done well since day 1 a year ago when whatever it was got released. They excel at PvB (player versus bugs).
Each time there's been an update I've been mentally rehearsing my humble pie posts in the event of a sudden attack of prgramming brilliance - I've steeled myself to get used to the lack of lols.
But here we are again - situation normal it seems...
