Just... 6000 players have dared to play the most popular AC pvp mode?

Now cue posters mixing up concurrent with absolute figures, in 3... 2...

That's not in-game. It's a concept art representation. I mean, it's so bloody obvious that it's pointless even explaining it. But ask Ben though; I'm sure he'll be happy to explain how real it is, compared to how unreal it is. I'll wait.

Elite Dangerous gets Thargoids making the news and wowing everybody; Star Citizen has Benny's stonehenge. Then croberts puts out a newsletter with concept art. Never fails.

Looks nice atmospheric surface.

Edit: as for Chris newsletter - did we expected anything else? Any release dates? Nope. Any direct Squadron 42 mention? Nope. It even avoids to mention it, concentrating on SC Alpha 3.0. Anything said/promised in second half of 2016 just to get backers money? Hahahahahahahaha, nope.

Sorry, but not gonna fly.

The newsletter reads like every other missive they put out.

So now, we're talking about 3.0 + SQ42 in 2017; despite all claims to 3.0 being in Dec 2016, 3.x in 2017, and 4.0 in Q4 2017.

I love how Sunleader will give a long diatribe about game design as though he is some sort of knowledgable authority on the subject, only for Tippis to just calmly eviscerate him seemingly without much effort...and for Sunleader to then promptly ignore Tippis and continue as though no one noticed. [haha]

They all do that. Facts have no place in their version of reality.

CR and SG both publically aonowleged they were 100% crowd funded...Sandi took credit for it. Not sure when you jumped on the SC bandwagon but that's pretty common knowledge unless you are implying they lied.

Except that it's false. And yes, they LIED. I know at least two investors; and one took his money out last year; even making a video about it. It's public knowledge, and in one of my blogs actually.

There are still other investors in the project, aside from crowd-funding.

One more time :

If you do not need a loan, you do not take one. (From the book of: How not to mismanage your company into the ground 101 for dummies)

You do not ever generate a company debt for no reason or need, that is insane and lunacy, it would be like taking out a mortgage on a fully paid for home just because you want your current everyday account balance to look higher for giggles.

CIG did not need a loan, they knew this way back at KS stage. If they took a loan or were assuming an intention to do as such at or around $100million, then that's a huge problem as it would indicate their outgoings planned or otherwise are larger than their income by a substantial amount, or they are just greedy sobs, neither is good for anyone.

1) They have investors, other than crowd-funding

2) They have bank loans. The one in the US is not public. The one (Natwest Bank) in the UK is public and in their corporate filings for Foundry42 (one of the 3 UK entities)

Meanwhile, as I wrote here about the CIG (UK) financials from earlier this week, one studio alone burned through over $18 million of the $35.9 million raised in 2015 fiscal. And that number is probably higher in 2016, given the increase in studio head count.

I am ignoring him because I have him on Ignore.
And he aint taking apart anything. He merely comments on details of a system which are meaningless to note because most people wont understand a word about it.

Sure a Dynamic System which changes the size of the instanced areas depending on playercounts to prevent unecessary loading makes sense.
But its not required for an explanation of the system.

Its a bit like having a Electrician around when explaining Electrics to Students in Physics class.
The Teacher says. For the Light Bulp to make light you need form a Curcuit. One line is for transporting the electrons from the positive pole to the light bulp. And the second line is to Transport the electrons from the light bulp to the source.

And the Electrician jumps up.
Screaming.
1. There is 3 lines. You forgot to mention the Earth Connection.
2. Electrons move from minus to plus. Not the other way around :p

But does that serve anything?
The majority is not Devs.
So bombing them with a fully detailed system makes no sense

The other thing is just him being in favor of instancing.
To me (and many others) the Idea behind *ONE World* is exactly that People can potentially block an area by being there.
The Freedom that you can Block a Station for example and others CANNOT just use another instance to bypass you.

Sure you can see it as an positive thing to have instances.
It allows you to have a much smaller World.
Imagine ED with its Mail Slot Stations when you had 100 Commanders in that System.
If your making a Game where you might have 100 people docking at the same station. That means this Station needs to be designed very very different.

But ones advantage is another ones bane.
For me the knowledge that a Station with but 5 pads right now has 43 ships docked because it exists in 40 different instances is completely unacceptable to me ;)

Takes more performance for sure.
Is more complicated as well.
But thats the promise they made.
So again. Noting out advantages of instanced system is completely irrelevant to the topic :p

Nothing he said is actually affecting my statement which explained how you can make things work :)

And nope. Wont change it. ^^
Sorry but changing this Habit slows down my Writing Speed ("Schreibgeschwindigkeit" <- Name of something) quite considerable because I have to pay attention to the Habit rather than paying attention to what I am saying. And I cant put the Habit away entirely. Because this Habit is actually required and trained for writing German :p
[/spoiler]

You're basically saying "I wont bother typing properly because I dont care if its irritating for others." You are not the only non-native english speaker here, try to make an effort like everybody else. There are loads of German people here, and they all seem to have zero problems typing properly.

Sunleader has quite a few people on ignore here. Its his way to deal with facts and logic that counter his opinions. He likes posting huge yet poorly written posts, but strongly dislikes actually discussing anything.

The only time I see his posts, is when you guys quote it. Please stop. I have enough crazy to deal with as it is. :D

Nope, your post still shows up as moderator. Already tried to clear the cache, and it happens with two different browsers...

Edit: Hm. strange. If i log out of the forums and browse this page, it does what it is supposed to do. But if i am logged in, it always shows the moderator stat. :S

It looks like Superman is going to have to work on his Clark Kent glasses <grin>

For the record it works okay with Opera 42.0.2393.94

Does anyone have a link to an official post by CIG as to why Alpha 3.0 wasn't released in December 2016 or when its actually expected?

I find it odd that such an important update that was the centrepiece of Citizencon has just simply not come out as advertised.... and nobody says anything... its almost like they are hoping nobody has noticed.

Opera works with or with signatures. I hope is it something they fix. I like the opinions of the Mods and it would be good if they could do away with all that *mod hat off* stuff they have to do at the moment.
