For everybody grinding the ruins right now, here is an order that only requires the swapping of 1 item per trip back to the ship:

Using this map: http://i.imgur.com/pugVSp4.jpg (There is one error: Tech 10 is OrUr)

Getting all 13 default scans:

Park ship in the south: (9 million)
OrUr for Tech10
OrTa x3 for Lang12, Lang8, Tech1
TaRe for Lang14
UrRe for Bio7
UrCa for Bio9
CaTo for History15
CaTa for History11

Park ship in the north: (4 million)
CaUr x2 for History10, History8
CaOr for History12
CaRe for History14

I don't see the advantage of only having to swap one item vs two, it seems to me that the time saving would be trivial as it's the driving back to the ship that take the time. Maybe an order that takes advantage of the items that are lying around so you can sometimes avoid returning to the trip at all would be more efficient?

So I'm perched herein the ruins (in solo, for comfort and safety!) watching Barnards Loop emerge from the horizon over "obelisk cluster G", listening to the ambient singing, reading over the lore-data provided and listening to
CMDR Josh Hawkins read bits of it to me on youtube, and I'm becoming more and more convinced what we're getting here is the Thargoid origin story.

Its all there - the bio technology with EM elements (just like the new ship and its wake), genetic manipulation, fierce and warlike behaviour, the pictograms relating to and as speach, like the scanned unknown probe, regimented society, hints of techno-telepathy/hive-mind.

I think "Guardians" refers not to these entities, but to the AI singularity(-ies) left dormant in the interstellar obelisk-info network we are now so gleefully proding.

Maybe we're going to wish we'd been nicer to the newly returned Thargoids because we're going to need their help dismantling their old network before it dismantles us...

This puzzle will take us to the missing "4th world" it points at, where we'll learn more, maybe more than we'd like...

Anyway, I'm way to tired now tokeep scanning obelisks, my 1500 handed in will have to do. I think I'm going to activate the relic beacons here and see if the CG finishesbefore I have to crawl off to bed.

I hope one of us wild theorisers is somewhere close. I can't help feeling all the info is there, I just don'yt have a good enough handle on it to puzzle it out. Hopefully hints from the CG will give someone the boost they need to see the way the dots join!

I agree this sounds very much like the background of the Thargoids, they are either the green skinned subspecies or more likely the warriors that were created. What does puzzle me is the message that the Guardians were adept in biological warfare and defence against it- is this why some of the Elite lore has been retconned/removed? Because if the Thargoids also had this knowledge (as you'd expect from their creators), then they would have easily survived the Mycoid attack and the war would have continued until humanity was exterminated.
I am totally confused abut the current state of ED lore!!

We need to know if there are hints that would allow us to identify the location of the current ruins. If we solve that then we could use the same method to find others, if they exist. The location of the current ruins is the only real data we have. The other ruins may be located on the same moon, the same system, neighboring systems, or the other side of the galaxy. We just don't know.
The data we decode for Ram is interesting for him, but he sure as hell don't tell us much. I'm beginning to suspect that if we manage to decode all the data he'll just say "Thank you Cmdr, this data is fantastic! I'm not telling you what it is though, but here's some random lore that will lead you nowhere. See you soon in another exciting adventure! Exciting for me of course."

Just finished reading through the current site's full message set & think the only clue to the homeworld location is the message that it was populated by red skinned in the North and green skinned subspecies in the South. This must presumably relate to the class of star (binaries of different colour?) or the filtering effect of the atmosphere on the light of a single star with a planet axial tilt favouring one hemisphere. IFF we assume the warrior species or the green skinned subspecies are the Thargoids, then can we assume the homeworkd has an ammonia atmosphere? How would that affect the colour of the starlight?

Well first time since the discovery of the crash site many moons ago now I've jumped on, handed in 220ish tones this evening. No point in going out for another run on the CG as will have finished before i get back. just waiting for this to end now.

So its ended. No activity at the ruins. Do I have to go clasim my reward, or does it get sent when the next stage is triggered?

Not done one of these before, you see.

31M for me, in the top 25. Not bad, now we wait for FD to wake up and feed us the next bread crumb ?

No time now. Will report later tonight and post a master key in 4 hours.
So show some courtesy if You cannot show respect.
You have no chance if You dont have Pareidolia.

This city is a huge galaxy map. Huge!

Edit: I am not talking about obelisks. I do not touch them.

You seem to be anticipating some negative responses to this, so I have to ask, why did you post it? There's no value in posting "I've found something, but I won't tell you what", even with a time limit. Just wait until you're ready to reveal the whole thing and then post. If you're not ready or not willing to completely lay out what you've found and how then just don't say anything. Because you're effectively saying "I know something you guys don't but I'm not going to tell you now", and frankly that is one of the most annoying things you can do on a thread dedicated to collaboration and the sharing of information.
