THE FORMIDINE RIFT MYSTERY (Part 4)

Possible but if so then maybe the old adage that it helps could prove true...I tried it at alpha and the beacon came online, its broadcast to the best I could manage is below, but i'm ashamed to say I was not prepared and some of the audio was not clear

AYJEP QYUWLUDCQCKJXUEO KPJDTPQYP6UNL003 NE??YLKCJQ02 SKN?CDCJUNCSQ UESKQP URN041 IKDUPQEJDXY

As I say I was not prepared and I have not been able to repeat it so far, but the whole process was jumped in, dropped a UA....nothing, opened text and tried a few text transmissions....nothing, flew up to the domed surface of the satellite and bumped it a couple of times and it came online!

I first post right! Troll! just try it
I could be wrong, but haven't all the beacons been de-coded?

That thing they dropped off sounds interesting and like a Lot more than any old satellite/beacon.
Err, again, why? ;)

Just thinking out loud for the moment.

First off we had the bugged bases which since they were reactivated have given clues about being ripped out of hyperspace, systems being shut down etc.

We started to get ripped out of HyperSpace in the area that Drew has rep'd a post for being linked to the Rift Mystery.. Just Prior to the bases being found we had the First Hyperdictions happen, which makes me wonder were the clues a forewarning of what was going to happen but just got bent out of sequence by the bugged Bases which FDEV appear to have thought had been reactivated but which in fact hadnt until quite a few of us which were sat on the first rift location constantly pestered about until we got a response.

As mentioned by Drew we have missed some clues, is it worth going back looking at the chronological order of stuff which was posted on Galnet connected to things that were affected by "In Game Issues" and seeing if we missed something in the sequence.

I am on my way back to the rift after a funny story I will now share.

Myself and a few others were frantically searching the CTD areas after the last update, once we were sure they were not activated as suggested we kept pushing for an answer as to whether they were or not activated.

So to cut a long story short I RP'd an SOS msg to support asking that if it was going to take a while to fix, could they send a recovery ship to tow my ship back to Human Space so I could carry on with the Ancient Ruins Mystery.

Well later that day we found the first Base, so caught up was I in the search for other bases, that I forgot my support request. Fast Forward 24 hours later, and in my email was a great RP response back from FDEV Support saying that the recovery ship had successfully towed my Ship Back to Jameson Memorial at no cost.

I stared at that email for a few minutes, thinking "OMG! they dont know its fixed in support and they took me some 9,000 + Ly's from where I was happily hunting for further bases". Then I saw the funny side of it and couldnt stop laughing for ages. The Moral of the story "Be careful what you wish for, or remember to close tickets when things are fixed"

Don't forget, we've known about ships being ripped out of hyperspace for a while now, there have been missions to track down and get data from crashed ships for months, and they all described losing power, "No, it can't be - I thought they were a myth!" and so on.

I'm starting to wonder if some of those logs actually had more information hidden in them than met the eye. Or if a better look around the crash sites may have revealed something, those, to me, are obviously related to this.

Z...

OMG how did we miss that? So now we need to find Raan Corsen's ship, which crashed "somewhere in the Alioth system".

You know what drives me mental about trying to research things on Galnet? Like absolutely tree-climbing psychotic ranting spare? The lack of a SEARCH facility on the Galnet website. I mean...come on FD, this the future people.

Edit: Another Galnet post with more details about Raan Corsen.

Amused me that Raan Corsen is an anagram of Sara Conner...
...shame it's missing the 'h'.

Had a quick thought... bear with me

1) "Core of the problem" could mean core world(s)? (bubble or even just SOL)

2) A new planetary body suddenly appeared in the SOL system that as far as I know doesn't exist IRL

3) That new planet is called "Persephone" which has obvious and numerous tie-ins with the Rift Mystery lore etc..

4) we have the knowledge that we have missed a clue(s) somewhere along the way...

I'm thinking a thorough survey should be done on the planetary body, either to find something, or eliminate it once and for all
At least that way we will either A: find another clue or B: Be sure its irrelevant and move on...

Thoughts?

EDIT: Sorry for proposing yet ANOTHER planetary survey... I'm not going to make any friends with this idea am I? :D

One of the base logs refers to departing "the core world" and another refers to Reorte as the departure point. Core of the problem?

Thanks for the info :), added to the list.
I can do that with level 2 jumponium & I have plenty of it :), but earliest I can try is maybe tomorrow evening (GMT).

Just seen what Worom said, also this would be way beyond the jump range of a Sidewinder.

Yeah, i don't have jumponium gear for the first time in ages :( i could go find some in a second and let you know before then. I mean it's worth checking and eliminating. "There's an Earth-like world here...Going to try and reach it, you never now"

Sorry dude I'm going to do your head in now ha, but i have had time to burn recently... hence being on ED.. ALOT! But i have checked every single system with an ELW within 200ly of GL-Y E2. I will get you a list in the next half an hour of the systems i have checked.

For the record, are you guys aware of the Neutron boost storage trick? Basically, do the usual FSD overcharge neutron thing, then target the system to jump to, and make sure you are going to be flying through neutron arm. When the FSD is charged, throttle forward (and be nice and close to the neutron arm) and, so long as the FSD overcharges again in the 5 second countdown, you'll get another boost to use from the new system.

Could be handy in some cases.

Hawkin's Gap Beta Site found. :)

This is the final one for HG.

Found on planet (CMDR) Britain's Solace in the Bitstorm mountains! =p

Using the above classifications it appears to be a beta agricultural.

So we have confirmation of Sirius Corp's involvement. Knew there was something fishy about them. I wonder if there's a way for us to force answers out of them?

In addition to comms logs, could people please post the inbox messages you get from firmware etc when scanning the base data points? They may also be relevant to Sirius involvement.

So are the white fluffy clouds boiling out of witchspace something I should be concerned about, out here, in EAFOTS, 780ly+ +y of the Galactic Plane?

I get the eerie feeling they're trying to reach out and wrench someone...

It falls just short of actual confirmation of Sirius Corp's involvement. That said, more and more fingers seem to be pointing in that direction.

Quick question: I seem to remember reading somewhere that Sirius Corp developed the current generation of hyperspace technology, the Frame Shift Drive. I can't for the life of me find a citation anywhere. Does anyone know if this is correct?

Try this lore page below. Also the tourist beacons in Sirius system might have some info.

Edit: Antares was designed and built by Sirius, which had some dodgy drive tech:

Will leave this here, if anyone wants to go check it out.. go right ahead! Bare in mind.. you need 57.50+ ly jump range!

EAFOTS YO-Z D1 has an ELW... but its unreachable for me. If your going to check it out jump from EAFOTS CV-X D1-3.

I'm there, a beautiful ELW but nothing to declare.....

EAFOTS YO-Z D1 done.

OK so here is my theory on this mystery.... sorry if it has already been said.

Now we have the name of the operation, exodus, meaning the mass departure of people, I have concluded that this could be preparation for the evacuation of the bubble. It's a pretty far fetched idea I know but here me out. The ships were dropping beacons either for their return journey or for people to follow and find them. This could be the "exodus" of people fleeing in coming events. And with the ships of the accounts of people from the data links with all their ship systems dropping it bears similarity with the unknown ship, but with a hostile reaction too, something we CMDRS havent experienced yet with this unknown ship. What if these "aliens" are unhappy with our expansion into their space.....or they are the reason for this massive exodus in the first place. Just imagine it.... Thargoids on one side of us and the guardians (if any still remain) on the other...... space is more populated than we assume it to be. I believe something big is coming and this "operation exodus" is an evac/relocation plan more accessible than colonia.
Just my theory though, feel free to throw ideas and criticism at it :) I just think the clue is in the name of the op.
I think the alliance is up to something also....
And the unknown cargo ...maybe a sacrificial offering to appease our new alien overlords ;)
