i have culture and language 6 but it wont let me edit that document

Culture 6 - This data holds some shocking revelations. it talks about the religion that emerged towards the end of the guardians civilisation and i wont lie it has shocked me. while religion remains a feature of human society, unless you live in one of the more extreme theocracies, its generally a matter of personal faith rather than a generally accepted consequence of the human condition. i know some of my fellow researchers would disagree with me. but it is generally assumed that religious beliefs tends to reduce to potency as scientific understanding grows in the case of the guardians, the opposite holds true, it truely divided them.

language 6 - This data packet indicates that the guardians used two different forms of communication with the same - or at the very least similar - language constructs, its slow but fascinating work, using this data i believe i can establish a rudimentary understanding of the oldest two forms - verbal communication. like us they had a vocal language, and the range of sounds appears to be similar to that used in human vocalisation.

Thanks a lot !!

Google Sheet updated with those datas.

Oh crap. That almost makes it seem like WE are the guardians, created to keep something safe from the Thargoids.

That is very cool. I'll compare this to the results I'm seeing from my JavaScript that I got from moveable type

I've rewritten it in JavaScript to make it easier to plot the results which showed I was incorrect mathematically (there was some very funky stuff going on with the curves!)

I've changed the spreadsheet to correct it, but now there is only a match for the alpha site.

I'm unsure if my "arc offset" value of 32.62 degrees is correct. My initial assumption that it was 14.205 degrees could not be the case as then the maximum would be about 21 degrees, and the alpha site is at -31...

I had theorised that this offset was a fixed value which will subtend the correct mound-to-mound angle from the moon arc, but I'm actually thinking that might not be correct. Could you confirm if it should be a fixed value and what that value should be?

My big question is the spacing between the great circle and the ruin position. As I understand it, the ruin lays on a parallel circle (i.e. not a great one)
so that the moon will trace an arc < 180°. If you could explain to me the separation between the great circle and the ruin "smaller circle" I would
be glad. (and be able to compute stuff).

The two mid points of the circles are separated by an angle of 216 degree's, if you stand at the mid point of the ruins. They appear to be different distances from that mid point (further for the small circle), but I am at work and unable to go into details on that atm.

If thats what you are asking.

it appears the leeching bug has been fixed, hopefully less false positives and so on.
I got 5 new data items while I was still 20+km from the new site. In Mobuis PVE.
Since then I was sat there for an hour or so and got nothing new, but I think most people scanning are doing so in Solo mode to avoid the data bleed from screwing with there results.

Still no word from FDev on the pointless duplicate 2nd site ( aka Site Deja Vu ) ?
I'd accept most things being the same ( including obviously all the bugs, as it's I'm sure it's the same code controlling all the sites ) but having the same obelisks active and the same data is just pointless. Literally no point in flying to that nothing new at all.

New site is interesting, it will make a fun little srv race track I think :)
Again we are finding in Solo that a couple of the obelisks give no data for any combination? maybe we missing something, maybe our ship needs to parked somewhere specific or they only work if all the beacons are raised with the relics still in place or there really is another artefact somewhere that we haven't found yet.

Updated my map to fit the front page map naming and added 2 NON-SOLO combos: B25 and B30:

Beacons raised with relics in place has no effect.
On any of the sites.

Just an FYI :)

Hey there, I decided to help a bit by mapping the new ruins layout based on the old one used at the first ruins. The sections colours are not defined by the objects yet, but I can change it accordingly. Also I've included the nearby artifacts.

So here we go, also this is my first post here :D

This has the process as well as the source I was using as a zip download

Looking at the Numbers of 2 sites the ruins seem to be at a distance that is 44% of the given planets radius which you can see here

Form what I'm seeing it's relational to the radius which makes sense as different sized spheres would need a different distance to line up with the circles.

I have that number using 2 sites as 44% of the radius

This is another issue I have, login, I joined Mobius because I wanted the company of other commanders, here's the thing, nearly all the artifacts were gone when I arrived, this meant I had to login to solo, I mean surely login is not the intended way of getting the artifacts?

As for the other 2 sites, I'm trying hard to forget that copy/paste monstrosity.

Welcome :)

And finally someone who turned his lights on when taking pics. Thanks!

404 .. you copy/pasted the forum-display-shortened links I think.

Fixed
