Greetings Citizen.
The CIG Events team has been gearing up for a great show at GDC. Star Citizen will be on prime display at the Amazon Lumberyard Booth and we’ll also participate in their twenty-four hour live stream. So, if you can make it to GDC, swing by and say hello. If not, check us out on their Twitch channel.
Today, we finally got to reveal the Anvil Hurricane. What I love about this ship is it’s an aggressive fighter with massive artillery and it really adds to the lore of Star Citizen. While we’ve already got a handful of combat ships in the game, when working with the designers, it was important to figure out what was this ship’s unique character, what was it bringing to the table to make it feel distinct.
The Hurricane reveal isn’t our only big news. Soon, we’ll be sending out a video and updated perks for all our subscribers.
We’re working away at the 2.6.2 update and collecting bugs submitted by the Issue Council. Your feedback there has been invaluable in helping us identify and work through fixes. The upcoming patch will mostly be polish and balancing changes, but there will be added features that didn’t make the 2.6.1, like the MultiPlayer MegaMap, which will help cut down the load time between the multiplayer maps. This week, I met with producers from all the studios to talk through the schedules for 3.0 and Squadron 42. You got a sense of how complicated the process was in the Buccaneer Ship Shape featurette a few weeks ago, so you can imagine how many more elements these schedules need to factor in. It’s been a challenging, yet satisfying, process to pull all this together. We’ll keep you posted every step of the way.
