Hurricane LTI Warbond Edition and standalone ship concept are up for purchase. Details and glossy shots here https://www.robertsspaceindustries.com/pledge/ships/hurricane/Hurricane#overview

yeah, I'm pledging now.

They had a really cool "Pupil to Planet" video in 2015. I don't see any of that functionality integrated into the game.

sorry, again... that was sarcasm. I really don't believe.. ahh, nevermind.

the pupil to planet is coming Any Day Now (tm).

True, and I welcome it, but you might need to flag it more clearly so we can tell it apart from the genuine faith and optimism...

haha.. next time I'll add in [joke][/joke] or [sarcasm][/sarcasm] flags, as may be the case.

on further reading.. not sure the hurricane is for me... it really is a glass canon-- 6 guns, size 3 missiles, but can't take a punch. I need a ship that can take a beating.

Ahh, whatever.. I'll buy it and melt it later if I don't like it :)

I would not worry you head about it much. After all it is not a thing that exists, nor is there a game to play it in.

With citizens no longer being able to post new threads, that particular subforum has outlived its usefulness anyway. Might as well remove it completely, since I'm sure all of those things have been attended to by the diligent CIG staff. :p

Outright deleting it would result in yet another outcry. Better to disguise the block under the guise of Spectrum until the backers dont care to post there anymore. Currently there are a few last resilient threads going because people can still reply to existing threads but cannot start new ones. Its just a matter of time. That way, the backlash wont be as heavy.

It rather was. Their 2017 sales have consistently been mediocre — constantly in the red and at levels that would have been terrible even many many years ago. There's really no prettying up that fact.

I think there has been cutbacks regarding work force and the results and pace of development as well as news reflect that correctly IMO. Therefore earning less isnt a problem if they manage to maintain their current burn rate. Its nothing they ll recover from tho. Disgruntled old backers are out of the equation. There are a few hardcore ones who will simply not accept that its over and they pay out of their wallet but they wont be able to keep them afloat. New blood is desperatly needed and we see the attempts to get them all over the place. I hope that the truth has spread far enough by now and CiG wont get new victims without showing something worthwhile. I consider the competition being miles ahead already, nothing that cardhouse can catch up on anymore.

The only thing thats getting a rise at the moment is the momentum of the white knights which start again to come out in force trying to recruit new people with their fantasies. I really hope its one of the last convulsions before this thing goes belly-up.

speaking of SC-- the hurricane was finally announced... this looks like a new addition to my hangar :)

Lol, what is that? A lifeboat? Damn it looks like BLEEP and they charge MONEY for it? Wow, what a hideous piece of designer fallout. Design as well as presentation is on par with what I currently expect of CiG which isnt much lemme tell you. That is just a joke :) And of COURSE it has LTI, that feature that was supposed to be only available for the very first ship sales, what else is going to sell these things? It looks like it took a designer 2 hours to complete. This is WORLDS apart from what CiG used to present for ship sales. Its only screenshots this time eh? no fancy video? Figures :D resources must be really tight. Maybe Chris Roberts is even back at the desk programming himself. This ship looks as if he made it ^^

You're giving them far more credit than I ever would, that's for sure…

Let's just say that the “find the ‘inspiration’” game has already started. :D

that's funny, I was just about to say reminds be very much of ED ships, with its pie-like shape. it's a very Anvil-looking design (Anvil is an in-game ship manufacturer). Hey, I like it-- I think it's very subtle, I love the detail, and the drop down cockpit (currently on the gladiator, which is a very nice touch). . but I get that's subjective. But then again, I have eclectic taste when it comes to things like ships, and cars, etc. most people tell me at least one of my cars are butt-ugly. When it comes down to it, I just can't resist six guns and size three missiles... even if others may thing it's cut from the scrap end of the cloth :)

I don't remember what they promised re: LTI, but it's been popping up recently with any new ship-- when they release a concept, it usually comes with LTI. But Robert's has been pretty clear that it's not that much of a boon, since in-game insurance isn't expected to be that much of a burden (and I'll believe it when I see it -- so for now, I'm only getting ships with LTI).

Love it or hate it -- I like it, and I pledged it :)

uh, wait... you're serious? You're actually still giving that guy money?

yeah.. I didn't put [joke][/joke] flags around it :). I actually bought the hurricane and the tortoise package. Wanted to pick up another terrapin with LTI.

And while Roberts fiddles as Port Press Screens burns. Citizens heads are turning to pastures new.

very poetic. :))

Hi guys, before I go out to drink a little, some little news! (I may post something more later but for now there is no schedule report update and I didn't receive the newsletter for now so... [where is it])

The page of the Hurricane is up
Big things do come in small packages: the Hurricane is a fighting spacecraft that packs a deadly punch into a slight fuselage. The spacecraft compensates for its lack of creature comforts with its powerful armament: six guns capable of blasting their way through nearly anything. Hurricane pilots have yet to find an enemy shield they can't knock down.

Happy Hour: February 24th

TLDR
  • Today's Happy Hour featured the first live concept of a creature for Star Citizen. Josh Herman sculpted the creature live with suggestions from the forum thread earlier and polls during the stream to create a creature of the community's choosing.
  • The initial type of creature chosen was a flying spider hybrid.
  • The livestream poll results were as followed:
    • Hostile or Friendly: Hostile
    • Predator or Prey: Predator
    • How many Legs, 6-7-8-9-10: 9
    • Weapon, Stinger, Grabby Hands, Single Poker: Stinger
    • Size, Small, Medium, Large, Huge: Huge
    • How many eyes, A few, A bunch, All of the eyes: All of the Eyes.
  • The end result was a terrifying flying spider with a massive stinger that was the size of something a grown man could walk underneath.
  • The name will be decided by the community via forum post on the site!
  • Also the Anvil Hurricane is now on sale! Check out the concept sale on the RSI website.

Elwin's Aurora (via Weekly Email)
The sneak peek this week features a re-design of the Aurora spacecraft. The sleeker, more aerodynamic design gives this utilitarian ship a much-needed style upgrade.
