maybe the thargoids are mad at ED's grindy engineer mats so they said, "we will show those devs" and planted barnacles, now they just show up once a day and suck all the arsenic and rare mats out of the planet.

Now that's a good vid, and I'd agree it is taking something from the barnacle.
Looking at the superb graphics used to produce that ship....I've come to the following conclusion: We need better ships, so far they have not been that aggressive, yet can disable us just by showing up, heaven help us if we bump into one that wants to get rowdy.
I'm wondering if we are not watching an alien version of the Dynasty programme, and the barnacles/brain trees/pumpkins are not advance "fuel/repair" stations for the scouts of the aliens. (Pure tinfoil of course on my part), but if what we have met so far are just scouts....I'm off to beagle point.
It might be worth suggesting to Cannon to keep an eye on the planetary makup over a period.

But that's the only way to get to the root of what's happening.
To be fair, they could be picking fruit from the tree, and our method is more like hacking off tree limbs to get to the fruit.
The sidey log says they are 6 month out and 3 month to go, the distance from settlement system to reorte is approx 8400 ly (cant remember) so if the planned destination was another 3 months, thats 50% more time, so another 4200 ly out on the RR line, just about where the zuara is! So the destination of the trip is around there, worth a search?

Just arrived at Farsight after a run through the Outer Arm towards the Zurara.
Last time i was here was the day it was found. Now with some time to think about it, i am glad this was not found earlier.
It's a lot more of an experience with the megaship and the audio-logs (btw, you can get them again after 4 weeks as it seems).

IMHO that ships is not trying to kill you but is acting like a territorial animal trying to ward you off of its barnacle.

Cockpit icing is a common factor in all flowership encounter reports to date. Possibly related to the gravitic drive field -perhaps this interferes with the ship's envoronmental control system.
