Way back when there was no concept of Seasons even, that came at the end of year one, after release. Lifetime Expansions means just that I think, clue's in the name, and I see no reason whatsoever to doubt, that stands no matter what the pay-to-expand model for non-owners ends up being. Some of the best gaming money I've ever spent already though, even so early, as (nearly) one season in. Long may it continue. Elite!

No risk at all ... I'm a Premium Beta LEP owner and so far so good, I don't see anything here that makes me think otherwise.
FD will supply me with all future updates and expansion packs as stated when I signed up ... simples
You see, you say this authoritatively knowing that no details have been released. So either you are speculating your brains out, or you have inside knowledge none of us do.
As Frontier have committed to Season 3, I doubt it's the latter and therefore can't take you or your post seriously.

I don't quite understand your concern... You'll get all the releases for free, regardless of the sale model (seasons or separate patches/DLC's), so what's the problem?

Just like OP I'm concerned about updates, they have not been updating the game for long now and many features they promised are not there yet, random DLCs don't make lifetime seasons pass worth cause what we get are seasons, if they start putting everything in Season 2 the value of owning a lifetime pass goes down so I hope they will start releasing at least a season every 2 years, at least until the value of lifetime pass is the same as having bought seasons separately

I disagree.
Foe the sake of argument, let's assume you'll get 50 major patches with fixes, enhancements and new content, in total throughout this game's lifetime. What does it matter whether they are delivered as separate patches or as part of 10 seasons consisting of 5 patches each? You still get the same amount of content for the same amount of money you've paid for the LEP.
So how is that lower value, if you get the same stuff for the same price altogether, the only difference being the sale model that does not affect you in the slightest, as you don't ever need to pay for any updates?

They still want to release space legs, atmospheric planets and earth likes. Nothing has changed since they sold the LEP, just the way they are distributing it (which I don't need to care about, that's the point of the LEP).

The dev you're referring to said 'if we get there', acknowledging that it's a massive technical challenge, while also saying at the same time that it's still 'a goal' / 'our end vision', and a core aim of the CEO, and that they're still going for it. IE:

Definitely got my money's worth already - many weeks play and 2 seasons. I am expecting more and would be disappointed with no additional content.

Look I will be totally frank about this and this might sound cynical but...
The reason I opted for the lifetime pass was because back then you could see Frontier seemed to like "pushing it" as far as pricing goes.
I honestly don't feel that has changed, you only have to look back to when they wanted to charge to have people see your ship name to see that.
So sorry to be blunt about it, but have faith that Frontier will continue to try to nickel and dime the community.

its not really free, LEP owners have simply paid in advance and Frontier accounted for that revenue
revenue growth to Frontier (a share holder company) is not coming from LEP owners in the form of expansions, hence the question of % of LEP owners in the recent active player base.
Yeah sorry of course not free, just a turn of phrase, I am not sure what word you would use in it's place.
I have no idea of stats but it wouldn't surprise me if LEP holders generally make more cosmetic purchases.
