I'll start a private group and invite you Old Duck. We might not see each other due to time zones, but it's there if you want it. This was the point of my post way back when. I'm not creating a mobuis, just a safe haven for people that I personally trust in the small time we have had together.
I had a look on Mobius the other day and they way they do it is that someone has to buy a copy and set up an Id just for Mobius and not play on it. Obviously the Mobius people want that to be someone they know and trust, so it might not be there from Tuesday.

As the leader of the Founding Fathers (forgive me, I forget the new name), it seems proper that your group be the official "Private Party Launch Day Group" if everyone else agrees. Perhaps we all agree to join this group just for launch day, then after that, those of us with different groups or a desire to play in open can switch accordingly.

Nothing so grand. It's there if people want it, but it's going to be exclusive, not official. I've got way better things to do with my time than referee arguments about who was griefing/ganking who.
Oh and the official patch is in my signature if your eyes are good.

I'm not too sure how it'll end up working. The email confirmation I received from Mobius only said the following regarding PS4 registration:
"PLAYSTATION REQUESTS ARE PLACEHOLDERS FOR NOW AND WILL BE AVAILABLE RELEASE DATE"

I was under the assumption by what I've read is, one join via the game itself. Somehow or other making contact with Mobi mob mobi (oops got carried away) which can take a couple of days to compleete. Apparently there's only one person in charge of membership and if their off messing around, your stuck in the "Q".

The guy responsible for the membership will have plenty of work and ETA on those may vary.
From what i've heard, it's a couple of days, tops.
I filled out the forms and received confirmation (of those forms). Now I just have to wait to be approved. I've decided I'm either joining a well-established group like Mobius, or I'll take my chances in open. If things get too hairy and I get blown up more than 5 times, I'll switch to solo until I get some space between me and the crowds.
I'm still not sure what to do... Besides, i'm waiting for other friends, on whether they buy the game or not...

Well, all your choices are valid. I've also been thinking about playing on Open Play... Or not...
On one hand, it's very risky and i will easily become cannon fodder, on the other hand... risk is part of the experience... Unless i keep on getting attacked multiple times on purpose just for the fun of it. If that would be the case, then i would swap to Solo or Private Group (If i join any). I dunno yet.
What i do know is that i'm gonna need to do the tutorials (probably multiple times) and keep training until i get the hang of the ship and controls. Flying War Thunder with the Hotas is one thing, Elite is quite another... I'm so gonna crash into the walls of the stations... [haha]
