Where are you getting those stats from, I could do with downloading that to compare, thanks?

That's from my LCD display unit (mounted under my monitor).
You should be able to get your cores processing from Task manager? You'll exactly the same. The usage on all four going up during the first 10-20 seconds of Factions, and your FPS dropping down from >60 to about 30...
How very fancy
It's not affecting my enjoyment of the game at all and I probably won't need to upgrade my pc now, so happy days.
I also just found out how to turn all my modules off and hide from people. You all better watch out next Wednesday![]()
I'm hoping "Factions" is a worse case scenario and generally in Elite I will be getting a better frame rate.
In fact the Factions is the worst case scenario for the CPU bottleneck that I know of.
Hi I am looking to put together as medium rig and looking at Over clockers who seem to be recommended. I did start gathering bits on amazon but only found out VAT was excluded until you go to pay!
I will be keeping this PC in a enclosed desk/cupboard so need as much fannage as possible and might need to even hook some extra fans/holes into the cupboard.
AMD FX8 8350 OC to 4.6 with an ALphenfohn K2 Mount doom cooler, Sabretooth 990FX DDR3 Board with 16GB 1600MHZ RAM £420
ASUS Radeon R9 270X 2GB 5600MHZ DDR5 (+2 free games apparently…) £170
Corsair CX 750MW 90 Plus bronze £72
Samsung 120GB SSD ( I am getting a NAS with 2x 3TB WD drives, so only want the O/S and maybe a game or two but might change this to 250GB) £69
Corsair Carbide 540 High Airflow case. This thing seems to be massive so I will have to re measure the inside of my cuboard. It comes with three fans and two compartments to separate board and GPU from Power and storage etc. It also has air intakes at the top for more fans £105.
Corsair are bringing out something similar but maybe only 66% as big in September and this would probably be more suitable.
Any thoughts on future upgradeability or what I will need to do if performance drops? I am hoping it lasts a few years and maybe only the GPU or another GPU can be added
Need to add a optical drive, Sound card but I think this are all pretty similar and also buy Win 8 again unless I can use my current licence on my Slate tablet PC somehow
Thanks for any advice particularly in regards to cooling or advice in these areas!
I do not know where are you going to buy this. But that's pretty high price for the GPU. You can find R9 270x much cheaper here:

If you are planning to pay £170 for the GPU then GTX760 is a better choice:

Putting what is, in effect a several hundred watt electrical heater in a sealed cupboard even with a few extra holes might not be the wise thing to do.I'm not sure on the whole idea of placing your PC in a cupboard, even if you drill the cupboard full of holes, heat is going to be an issue. The link you provided already states that the cooler you like is a good looker but not the best performer, so I can't help thinking that the OC you're aiming for could result in problems.

The components will suffer due to extended running at higher temps, and, er safety might be a distinct issue.
Definitely stick with the full-size ATX mobo - and you'd be better off having two sticks of RAM instead of one.
You could try talking to them - I've found them to be very helpful on the phone. Otherwise, you could buy that machine with the minimum 2GB RAM, and swap it out for 2x4GB sticks. A bit extreme though, I expect - hey-ho.Yeah, unfortunately pcspecialist don't give me that option..
