The race is on!
.
Action on the first day has mostly been in the Adder Special, with CMDR Beth Johansson leading the early charge soon after the green light was lit. The
Acanthophis recorded a run with a bumpy approach, that included nearly getting entangled with the arms of Bushkov Dock - but thankfully no damage was done. CMDR Roger J Smith soon followed, with a time less than ninety seconds slower, in
Wilson Accountant, a ship that has done some exploring in its time on 'Planet Wilson', where CMDR Bomba Luigi was once stranded in his SRV after his ship was destroyed upon being recalled. No harm came to CMDR Roger J Smith during this run, fortunately. Finally, CMDR Alec Turner, after much tribulation and debate with Galactic Logistics, took the
Nuts To Your Watches round the course in a time just barely under 14 minutes, setting the benchmark for day 1 - in both classes!
.
That's right, just getting his entry in before the first board update was CMDR Azzie Elbub, in the Sidewinder
Hotrod who took a different route to the Adders, all of which started in Viete Colony. Beginning from Bushkov Dock, the
Hotrod completed the course in 14 minutes and 20 seconds. I doubt we'll have seen the last of CMDR Azzie Elbub for this race: is a D-rated Adder really faster than a modified Sidewinder? Time will tell ....
.
I hope you all enjoyed yourself on the course today. Fly fast!

EDIT: A last-minute entry has been received today from CMDR Polly! Continuing the trend of the Adders starting from Viete Colony, the
Miseros Morsu completed the course less than fifteen seconds slower than CMDR Alec Turner's
Nuts To Your Watches but also faster than the
Hotrod. Is the distance in supercruise a deciding factor, or have there been cases of 'target obscured' from Bushkov Dock? Some CMDRs have made attempts in both directions, so it is not always the latter (but obscured targets can happen on the course, with the stations in such close orbits).
