Devs, it's time to start giving more details about 2.4. What can we expect?
Another one of these threads is it, the reveals will come when Fdev are ready...what you want is irrelevant

I think it's these other improvements and fixes, aside from the story elements, that a great many of us are very interested in learning more about. Currently, we don't know anything that is coming with 2.4 except for Thargoid story stuff (and hull repair limpets), which obviously can't be talked about in detail.
Aside from the major update and the focus on narrative, there will obviously be improvements, bug fixes, and balancing changes to various aspects also. These will be included as part of the patch notes as usual.
even though Ive been gaming a long time and was very much around in the good ol days of 84, I was never a fan of frontier games. Never played their earlier games, just dabbled here and there but nothing serious. So while others who love them speak from their experience of frontier, thats not something I have.
Please god no more coded mesaage 'mysteries'.
It's like being promised a stocking full of Christmas presents only to find just a Satsuma and a few Hazlenuts in there and then realise Santa still ate the mince pie and whisky you left.![]()
We talked about what's coming to 2.4 with Lavecon communications and the newsletters that followed after this, and in Zac’s post here.
The difference with 2.4 is that we're heavily focusing on the continuation of the narrative of the Thargoids and the emerging stories surrounding them. We've started to see the threads being discovered by the community in the past couple of months and 2.4 will be largely about pulling on those threads and unravelling more of the story behind them. The way that the update will be delivered won't be like any other we've done and will focus on narrative – a narrative that we certainly don’t want to spoil. For that reason, it may appear as if there’s a lack of new information about 2.4… we’ll keep things going with sneak peeks here and there, but we really want you to discover 2.4’s big secrets for yourselves.

You did show some 2.4 content Lavecon, but you didn't share any of it on the forums or in the newsletters (IIRC). I visit the forums quite regularly, so if there is something I missed chances are high that most other people missed it as well. I don't know about a single official 2.4 screenshot or video and yet I know that you showed some of it on Lavecon. So how about some sneak peeks? A quick video? There are plenty of Community Managers (way more than there used to be at release, which was like 0 or 1) and yet commuication seems to be less and less, apart from telling us your favourite ship names. I'd suggest you start talking with us, not about what you like about the game but what really interests us. It doesn't need to be some major reveal about 2.4, I am sure there will be lots of QOL additions and minor features like there are with every update. How about you talk about them? You didn't share anything about the stuff you showed at Lavecon yet.

Oh my God thargoids have taken over Babelfisch's pc and keyboard. Is that really you??
that means then that season 3 (3.x) will be around for 3 years. 3 years of updates for a single payment unless they change the finance model from the season pass as is rumoured.Well everyone has a patience limit. Mine was gone a long time ago when I realized 2.x will take 2 years to complete. Currently these guys (Frontier) are acting like they are trying to kill the hype about Elite Dangerous so that people start to give up and look for new things. Instead of speeding things up and showing promise about the future development, they are slowing development even more (progressive narrative content revelation blah blah, sounds like stalling and buying time to me) and being even more secretive about it by not revealing a single thing. There is something really off about Frontier`s current sales pitch because every passing day I am feeling more distant than before. People are tired of grinding community events that are no more than pen & paper role playing stories and now we will have to grind for the actual content to be revealed? If the game was fresh released that would work but putting things like that in a game that is years old is slowly killing it.

Sounds good, doesn't work.
Look at the community with this season.
The game is going down fast, they need to change things. So changing the model might be a solution if done right.
