LOL kinda shows that you are not. If you have LTI ships you could easily make your money back and then some, then just turn around and buy a cheap package.
Strike while the iron is hot is the saying, no? ;-)

I'm sincerely impressed with ED's standard beta. The incremental improvements made the already very solid foundation even better.
However, I realized now that ED can never beat SC in a very significant category: competitive online gameplay. This is due to the fact that all the assets in solo play can be carried over into online play. That renders any real notion of risk and reward non-existent, since a player can always simply grind together his next Anaconda in his exclusive single player bubble w/o taking any risk from being attacked by other players. By that there is no real long-term accomplishment in ED multiplayer, whereas SC multiplayer will be based on a high risk and high reward system where you cannot switch into "safe mode" to get the rare loot.
It's worse than that. It's an investment trap, committed by many new people on the stock market. It's throwing good money after bad. You invest in something you think is good. When it starts failing, rather than using your brain and cutting your losses, you use emotion and excuses and throw more money at it in the hopes it'll recover. That almost never ends well.
The worst part here is the guy managing the investment is regularly going to the investors can saying "We need more money to get your return, you've already put $X in, we can do it with a bit more. You'll see a return soon!". It's almost like a pressure con. It's not that far off "Hello, we have $1M dollars in your name in our Nigerian bank account, please send $100 for processing so we can release it to you.".
If I were a stock broker I'd be advising people to sell.

I believe if you start a character in solo (off-line) mode, you can never bring it online. I think I'm right in this. Maybe others can confirm.
It's a game nobody has to pay anything a lot of them to it because they have the money and want to support to make this game happen. Most of the community knows that CIG has enough cash already. I have no idea why people are so annoyed about what other people do with their money? If computer game's is my hobby and I really want a Space Game like Star Citizen what is there to stop me if I have the money to put in to the game to support it.
Many people sold their packages between the PAX reveal and the AC release but that doesn't change the fact that the Star Citizen population is still increasing packages are still being bought and money still comes in. There was a period in May where many of the skeptics sold their packages. But again they were bought out by SC fans for way more money than their original price! That show's that people have the money and the means to spend it for SC.
But It seems like a big portion of the internet really is jealous about that fact because they keep talking about how much money people put in SC. Why would you talk about other people's financials otherwise? It must bother one.

By Solo you mean Singleplayer right? The SP is a campaign, only medals and story material continues over to the PU from what I remember.

Any competition isn't coming from us!

Bit of a pretentious comment!
Do we really need to migrate this sort of rubbish to ED forums?![]()
