Good, less carebears in open is a good thing.
Oh look, another incorrect ‘Open belongs to...’ post.

Oh but it *can* get better - actually *doing* better.Well, is that good enough for you Cosmo? Response from the devs acknowledging your concerns and admitting they can do better. Don't think you will get better than that.
A lot of valid points and things that have been brought up in the past before, but that doesn't make it any less relevant or valid as feedback goes.
These comments were limited but let's not go down the route of "another of these threads," "oh, another white knight defending FD," or "it's just a bunch of whinging" folks. It's not especially constructive and just derails things unnecessarily.
The volume of sand, or lack thereof as far as the feedback on this and the reddit thread goes, is something I see comments about a lot. There's not much I can comment on it just yet but I thought it prudent to drop in and at least acknowledge it. We see it a bunch, and while I'm not always in agreement, it's hard to really deny people's perceptions of it... both sides of the argument make a good case for their side. I can't say that this will be resolved completely because that's a bit of a stretch when a lot of it is also down to what people want at the individual level. That said I am hopeful that future updates in the Beyond updates and (for lack of a better word) beyond will go a long way to address many people's umbrage with ED.
I appreciate that 2.4 wasn't well received (which the reddit thread was talking about.) We said from the very beginning that it was a different way of doing things. Criticism is an opportunity to learn, so this is what we will continue to do. Feedback is gathered regularly so as we move forward we will keep a note of what aspects worked and which parts received the harshest reception to help inform future content releases. We're immensely proud of what we've done but humble enough to learn and do better every time.
"Would you like to build an escape pod orbiting this planet?"On 2: No, that's definitely too big. It should be a small tent that can be set up as research, mining or fortified camp.
You limit the number of outposts allowed in a system, wrap it around "lore" if you want. These outposts are then generated by the client when someone enters it. It's just additional assets to load up.How should they handle outposts for 3 million players?
Apartments need to happen. And we should have the ability to buy an appartement in stations. It should also only be visible for people in the same instance.

Mmmhmm. It's OK. I'm sure Algo hasn't has his meds today.
I dont take meds (last time I checked) but you seem to be insufficient in sodium chloride, since you just donated alot of it.

Troll attempt 1/10. I'll give you an "E" for effort, however.
I'm sure you're gonna love the new C&P changes.
i'll tell you another thing Frontier should be immensely proud of: their community managers
I still don't know how i feel about 2.4 yet (afterall, the whole thing is still very much "in progress", although some of the points made in this conversation are indeed fairly reasonable), but reading a post like this one gives me much hope for the future.
keep up the great job and thanks again for this post (i'm just sorry i can only give you 1 single rep for this).
I am going to laugh at it, like I am laughing at the current PF bounty system.
Are you going to be laughing about it in the same way you are not caring about solo and PG influence despite making twice as many posts as anyone else on one of the threads discussing it?

Well this sounds like your average generic standard MMO, but I think I wouldn't mind it once the other stuff is done (so maybe in 6-8 years?).Apartments need to happen.
If outposts don't work for you; what about "buildings" on a station? The station will be on the outside, acting as a headquarters. You can pay to advertise your group/company (both when entering the station and whilst inside the hanger).
Buildings can be upgraded (on the inside); the lobby is accessible by any Commanders; and we can walk around it, see what the group has to offer. Sign up. Or see if they are looking for Freelance CMDR's for certain jobs.
Different types of offices cost different types of money.
So really upmarket player groups with lots of money; could have a sexy lobby:
How is it related?
As long as you can murder other cmdrs, this game works as intended. I dont see any issues with it, still login every day, extract some nacl and enjoying myself.
Yesterday I murdered a viper cmdr 3 times becsuse he couldn't understand that the thargoid poaching is illegal and hunting season is over. I had to do my part since I am RP as thargoid park ranger in the CG.
You have to create your own content, dont expect the game to do it for you.
Obsidian Ant's latest video has one of the best comments ever about Elite Dangerous:
Fdev built one of the largest sandbox's in video game history.. then? when it came time to put sand into it? They just built some kiddie theme park rides that offer the same experience over and over. Thargoids are just another theme park. You get on the ride.. see everything there is.. Than there is nothing left but to get on that ride again..... It makes sense for World of Warcraft.. you pay a monthly subscription and Blizzard has 200-300 full time developers building new rides.. In Elite? It wastes limited developer time.. hurts the game.. and ultimately doesn't add any sand to the box.
If there isn't Sand put in the box for Players to actually mold, change and influence themselves.. In an innovative and bold way.. This game will just fall off into obscurity.
It's the saddest part about Elite when you understand how the game works. It's the largest empty sandbox ever made that is full of kiddie rides with no depth or imagination.. In a Game "Galaxy" concept built and based on the idea of depth and imagination. Quite a paradox? Just give players the "Sand" That is all the Developers should be spending their time on. Instead you get CQC, Multicrew, Thargoids, CG's. Placing stations instead of letting players build them.... It's madness.
