I'm not sure why people obsess over the term sandbox. The definitions I found mean Elite applies.

Nope. I disagree, if youre caught in Open AND in an Anarchy system, then yes fair game. But not in open and high sec system. makes no sense. If open was not the free for all it currently is, then perhaps Id use it. But I would not expect to be burnt in a high sec system with no repurcussions for the offender.
Its strange that there is no PG PvP group and a free for all system for them all to meet up and beat merry hell out of each other.
I'd even spectate.
Actually, I know of at least one private group dedicated to PvP. It was used it for tournaments, as opposed to free for alls, after one too many tournaments were disrupted by other players. That group hasn't been active for well over a year, unfortunately. IIRC the main organizer moved on to another game, and the whole thing fell apart afterwards.
There have also been many attempts to have an anarchy system become a arena system as well. AFAIK, they've never got much traction.
Well the C&P is very poor I agree, but you have to take that up with FDEV, not the players in open who play within the rules.

Don't take my word for it, but Ryan who has experience in this matter noticed a trend. PvEers who pool their resources and try their hand at PvP will encounter experienced PvP groups who kick their butts all over the galaxy, upon which the former PvE disintegrates.And all of this is arguing that this is the way it should be.

Does this same logic apply to those who think PvEr's are "hiding" in Private Groups and Solo then? Because you know, they're just playing within the rules?

You know what PvE threads I'm referring to. Please don't act like you don't know what I'm talking about. Two of them were closed recently.
As for the Mobius invasion, it doesn't matter if you can speak "for" them, your position is arguing for PvP so therefore you may respond from that position, since Mobius is a KNOWN PvE only group.
For the record, I have pointed out that those who feel like it's "unfair" SHOULD be taking it up with FD and NOT pointing the finger at players.

Secondly as I have always said before why not a tick box for PvE which when ticked ONLY puts you in instances with other PvE players?
Because FD hasn't implemented a proper PvE only filtering system yet... if someone enters a PG with PvE Only they are still able to fire upon players. Hence the recent commotion regarding PvP players infiltrating Mobius, etc.
Those were not PE threads, those were modes discussions which were going since beta because its clearly a big issue and I fully understand why.

Not really. Most of those groups tend to come from other PvP games. No matter how good individual players are, a Pickup group has a hard time competing with organized groups. And these are players who have the kind of mindset to enjoy PvP. Players who don't enjoy PvP are at an even bigger disadvantage.
Having been in attempts to control GSPs in the past, there's also the tendency of GSPies to simply log out when faced with even the hint of a fair fight. Groups wishing to fight GSPies have to remain perpetually on alert, and spread their people thin in an attempt to be everywhere. It gets old really quick.
If you want to Frontier to change things for the better, you're better off asking Frontier to add an opt-in PvP system to get the kind of gameplay you desire. That way you incentivize more players to participate in PvP, without forcing them to do so. Forcing players who don't enjoy PvP into Open to enjoy their fame does nothing but kill the game. The players who enjoy PvP are already in Open.
If they combat log on you there is a place for this, not in those forums but other places allow and encourage naming and shaming when it comes to cheating in the game.

Do you have a specific example of where someone who doesn't PvP came into a PvP thread and did this? Or are you referring to someone disagreeing with the general topic?
