Pricing of fleet carrier: catering to small as well as large squadrons.

Since Frontier have mentioned Fleet Carriers and squadrons, lets give them some early feedback on pricing.

I am assuming here, that they cannot be bought by individuals, but by squadrons,
and that there will be some mechanics to pool credits in the squadron (taxes, donations etc etc..).

To not exclude the small squadrons with around 5-10 members from access,
but still provide a credit sink for rich players/large squadrons,
I suggest:

Cheap base carrier (2-5 billions)
Expensive to kit out. (5-500 billions)

Many will probably will say a base price of 50+ billions,
but not all players have been grinding money, but just casually done missions, exploration or combat over the years,
and will prefer to be in smaller squadrons, where for example a base price of 50 billion means its content that's out of reach.

I dont care what it costs. I care what you can do with it. How is the game loop supposed to look with it. What will be it's advantage over a station?
Anxthing else apart from being landable?
Will it have upkeep in form of metals?
Will we able to expand it?
Customize it?
Work for bonuses that fit our style of play?
How do we steer it?
Will we be able to crash it?
Will others be able to attack it?

Cost? Who cares. It will be expensive, then there will be a flood of snowflake tears on the forum, then every dad and his two sons will own one. So for me cost is tge least interesting aspect of all. By miles. Lightyears even.

It wont be credit based, or at least not mainly credit based. A credit sink would inevitably fail, and just cause more people to pre-grind credits at the latest semi-exploits.
I foresee something like the new mechanism for fixing stations. Focused grind requirements to sell Megatons of materials at the PGs home system. (They might be saying "squadrons", but its just a new in-game name for PGs when they have added the extra features)

I agree with the inevitable salt when "fred and his cat" cant have a carrier.

Anyone should be able to buy a fleet carrier. Stop shafting lone wolf commanders.
Agreed. I own a fleet and would like to be able to carry it.
I think it should work like buying one of those build it yourself house kits:
You choose a basic frame - CR cost.
Then you choose the quality of materials - either mined or bought or both. The resulting quality of the finished product is then dependant on time and effort invested.
If it takes me six months to get my Carrier up and running, fine I have a six month goal to work toward.

Don't be silly, you won't buy them with credits. You will buy them with modular terminals and cracked industrial firmware. :p

... and why shouldn't you transport some Fujin Tea to Colonia ... for reasons? Of course we have to adjust the required number so you'll need to do one extra trip for 1-5 tons or so ...

I doubt it will be credit based as well. If it was I would say 1 trillion. Because even moderate sized groups could pool that pretty easily. But like I said. I really doubt it will be credit based.

I'm assuming they'll be acquired and improved upon / enhanced in a somewhat similar fashion to STO's player fleet starbases, where members contribute a range of resources or complete tasks. How we move them around is another question though.

the prize doesn't matter

its more the question - what there is to do with it.

will they add ANOTHER seperate incomplete game for it, or will they integrate it with powerplay and PMFs ?

How about buying it on credit:D

My guess is that it will be partially credit based, but also require a minimum number of commanders to sign up as a squadron, and probably a series of missions and some material grinding.

These ships are basically mobile bases, and hence will be really really valuable. So it shouldn't be as easy to acquire as just throwing money at it.
