I love the game but FD ignoring 95% of folks and caving to 1% makes me want to walk away.

Just a fun fact if anyone is interested in psychology stuff.
Lifted from Wiki:

In psychology, the false-consensus effect or false-consensus bias is an attributional type of cognitive bias whereby people tend to overestimate the extent to which their opinions, beliefs, preferences, values, and habits are normal and typical of those of others (i.e., that others also think the same way that they do). This cognitive bias tends to lead to the perception of a consensus that does not exist, a "false consensus".

This false consensus is significant because it increases self-esteem (overconfidence effect). It can be derived from a desire to conform and be liked by others in a social environment. This bias is especially prevalent in group settings where one thinks the collective opinion of their own group matches that of the larger population. Since the members of a group reach a consensus and rarely encounter those who dispute it, they tend to believe that everybody thinks the same way. The false-consensus effect is not restricted to cases where people believe that their values are shared by the majority, but it still manifests as an overestimate of the extent of their belief. For example, fundamentalists do not necessarily believe that the majority of people share their views, but their estimates of the number of people who share their point of view will tend to exceed the actual number.

Additionally, when confronted with evidence that a consensus does not exist, people often assume that those who do not agree with them are defective in some way. There is no single cause for this cognitive bias; the availability heuristic, self-serving bias, and naïve realism have been suggested as at least partial underlying factors. Maintenance of this cognitive bias may be related to the tendency to make decisions with relatively little information. When faced with uncertainty and a limited sample from which to make decisions, people often "project" themselves onto the situation. When this personal knowledge is used as input to make generalizations, it often results in the false sense of being part of the majority.

Frankly i don't care what you want

Well there's a happy coincidence.

Ziggy, I truly do appreciate your posts oh so often. :D

I wonder where people come up with these numbers.. lol

95 % want to play "this way".... The 5 % are ruining it for us...

Based on.... What?

Did you just pull that 95% of players figure out of thin air?

If you want instant action in this game it's actually pretty easy with no further updates necessary..

Just stay in the bubble and jump into all the instant action you want. Impatience and a lack of understanding what kind of distances are represented here make the game feel slow to you when in fact the developers have made travel ridiculously fast considering those distances.

I agree with earlier posts, some people just seem to want a different game. Call Of Duty / GTA players demanding that Elite be just as "fast" and "fun".

Anyway, the devs don't seem in a hurry to give anyone 10,000 LY ships, so wherever you got your numbers... They seem to be slightly off?

Elite D is having a good year of repairs, needed completion of gameplay modes, a bit late for those of us with more than 1000 hours but still valued.

We are in a bit of a bubble as no one is talking about the boom is high concept, space context games coming out over the next 4 quarters. Big publishers like Bethesda, fully overhauled releases by whoever made X3 and more. It’s no surprise that the Elite Team is buttressing/ defending their property; and they’ll need a lot of beefing up to weather the coming storms.

Gamers are fickle, even with the time I’ve invested in this platform- because of the scientific affectations of the Stellar Forge, the VR, the emergent gameplay evidenced by Expeditions and Huge private groups like Mobius, in a heartbeat a simulation-style property with copious cutscenes, MoCap based character animation movement-what youse call ‘space legs’ and VR could ‘woo’ me away.
Maybe not many of you, like dedicated counter strikers, you feel Elite is the pinnacle of the genre.
Fine, I want more Astronomical gameplay, more economic gameplay-not scavenger hunt though, because this can occur without getting into character movement, leaving the cockpit, and is likely to be easily implemented with the current game engine. CQC didn’t blow up and even FDev has moved onto their idiosyncratic strengths.
Think of the business, the competition and what Elite has that won’t be surpassed- in 3 quarters of releases.
What does the game have that no other property is implementing:
Galaxy wide travel, territory and exploration. The stellar Forge is a real coding feat. Max it out, how is up to youse commenters, but think of making that feature more accessible to more players not just NASA space-x obsessed types like me-uh.
Space legs are going to better done, huge sprawling detailed economies will be better done, ship systems minutiae will be better done by upcoming properties because they’ve avoided the Forge and a far ranging galactic territory, but not for too long.

Let that inform your conversation and you’ll be closer to what the developers are discussing in their big picture sit downs.
Now, how do I know that, hmm, how?
Consider ways to keep the game alive without huge cash infusions.

And stop sniping at each other, partly cause you’re so poor at it.
Funny not mean, your opponent has to be disarmed because they’re laughing at your comment, a bit anyways. If your brazen responses would lead to an immediate jackasskickin’ in person without the internets’ unassailable podium then they’re lame and need a bit more tongue in cheek, double entendres, parody, something.
Avoid false equivalency and insult, you already know this right?
Debating, toast master clubs...

Bloody Dinos.

That's ironic... A comment dripping with arrogance declaring "stop sniping at each other" followed by a snipe to the tune of "you're so poor at it".

But sure, in your own way, you're making sense I suppose.

Must be a UK thing.. the whole online professor of human nature thing. lol

Oh noes ... The 5% ers which the internet itself can confirm that are on effect being stroked and petted by fdevs, don't like it when someone else gets vocal. Well tough luck. Haha
Yes i do represent a silent majority... The majority that wants fun not spread sheet mechanics just cause you backed the game in kickstart.
So there's a little clique of 20 ish of you chanting the same tube... Big deal. I've got time and patience to prove you wrong cause I'm firmly convinced you're wrong with you nerf inducing winging.
You're the cause why everything gets nerfed... And you think it's all gonna be like this forever. Well I'm here to tell you that it's not gonna be like this forever.
Eventually fdevs will start noticing the silent majority.
"Git guud at it" is the single most dumbest excuse for nerfing fun game elements that I've ever seen in a game community.
You've got this faulty mental proces where you're incapable of understanding that just because something is available in game you don't actually have to use it so you don't actually have to cry winge and moan about it until it gets remove.
In fact is the epitome of irony when you say "it's elite dangerous, is meant to be hard" but then you complain that it might be easier for someone else which in relation to you it absolutely makes it way harder for you to compete.
That's the actual truth...
You 5%ers are the real weak players and are afraid of competition... For example you're afraid of competing with players that might have ships with infinite jump range. You're either too slow to adapt and would refuse to jump that fast and so would be left in the dust by all the infinite jump range users OR since you're stuck in your little limited jump range mentally you'd slowly be dying inside eating yourself with envy "damn all these people using infinite jump and i have to use classic jump range to maintain my macho appearance, i sure which i could infinite jump but then it'd be eating my own hat and admitting is fun, damn stuck between a rock and a hard place".
That is it.... Literally the mind process of ever single one of you.
Insecure and not strong enough to admit that you're wrong.
You've past the point of no return and can't admit that certain things would be fun....
You'd rather trash the game crying for nerfing me elements than admit you were wrong.
You're that sad that you're willing to drag everyone's fun level down just to match your misery levels.

I think cargo ships should have 10.000 to 1.000.000 tons of cargo, 50 m/s speed and require solar scoop for every jump and have 10 shield slots and 5 boosters and 20 point defenses.

And all other ships except cargo ships should have infinite range.

And every PvP aggression should put a bounty equal to 5% of you credits...5% of 1.200.000.000 credits...See you tough " git guud" players be so cocky when you're hunted and destroyed by 10 noobs in sidewinders. That's 5% every single time you attack someone in open play.

Yeah.. Let's make it hard like that.

There are hundreds of threads from folks wanting to max out their jump range, and they usually end up with a Coriolis link showing zero cabins, cargo holds, scanners, etc, just an empty hull to get the jump range they want, but now they cannot use the ship for anything productive.

Then I find FS was giving the Type 7 a 61 Ly jump range, what a great thing, almost eveyone would have bought one (I made my first real cr in a Type 7) this excited me more than attaining Admiral.

Meeting my rank goal had me on Cloud 9 and laid back, finally able to just enjoy the wonderful game, nothing can ever discourage me now I thought, then this.

I was elated at the thought of a Type 7 with a 61Ly JR.

But two comments later there was a link for FD, and because those with exploror ships were crying they nerfed the long JR plans because "It would not be fair for it to have a higher JR then the X ships."

I went from cloud 9 and having joy and pride in the game to almost having a deep hatred for it instantly, I love the game, but hate, HATE, the fact that a few babies can cry, and the rest of the community suffers for these cry babies.

Thanks for nothing.

What's happening with the other 4%?

I guess that's possible.. I was never very good at making sense out of waffles.

I do like them with syrup and ice-cream though... mmm.. waffles..

It wouldn't surprise me that a hater that hates fun and everyone that wants fun isn't actually mentally capable of reading.

So here it is again. And you tactic of burying topics and posts you don't agree with the help of you few buddies and a few clone accounts isn't going unnoticed.

Oh I love fun; it just appears that what I, clearly the majority of the playerbase, and Frontier, consider fun (Elite: Dangerous) isn't what you consider fun.
And instead of simply moving on from the game, you create an account, hate on the game (that makes you a hater btw) and somehow come to the conclusion that the only reason you don't find the game fun is due to some apparently really powerful/influential 5% that can dictate to Frontier where their game focus must be.

That's some really whack mental gymnastics.

..isn't going unnoticed.
Blast it! Foiled again! And I would have gotten away with it too, if it weren't for you pesky kids!

So much deliciousness that is waffles.
