I completely and thoroughly disagree with the "fragmenting the player base" theory- because it's based on the assumption that everyone wants to engage in the same style of game play. They don't.
Well said.
I completely and thoroughly disagree with the "fragmenting the player base" theory- because it's based on the assumption that everyone wants to engage in the same style of game play. They don't.
You do realize frontier wants people shooting each other. Have you even watched their streams?
The only children I see here are the ones fighting against it.
Which is really funny. BEcause you guys fighting against it are the ones that have caused the problem in the first place.
I'll explain,
You just called people shooting others children, and yet you dont want the modes to be changed to give meaning to PVP.
So instead because of YOUR GUYS' ACTIONS in not changing the modes to give PVP a viable outset in this game.
PVP is only for salt mining. Or player created places like San tu.
When Sandro HIMSELF has shown and Expressed wanting to change that stuff several times.
And you guys fight against it, creating the toxicity we see today.
You want to know whos responsible for all the SALT? ITS YOU.
So, Is that what you guys want is salt? And toxicity in this game? Or would you rather give it definition.
Because thats all we got right now. And if SALT you guys by not fixing the modes. Then its salt you guys are going to get.
I mean just use your brains for 10 minutes and think about it.
No they go there, every time something bad happens to them. Or in BGS stuff when people are capable of PVPing they use max jump range and no defenses removing the need for any engineering.
Like how many cutter pilots have you guys came across with naked builds for max cargo in OPEN at a CG and you see and hear them complain on the forums.
That build works in private and solo. It DOES NOT work in OPEN.
Hello? Thats a cutter pilot. NOT A NEW PERSON!
Starting! [haha]
You enjoy challenges

Are you saying that playing in open provides no choices except for pew-pew? This is an exaggeration I think. Yes, not everyone bought ED for PvP. What you are actually saying is more or less that "if PvP becomes more central to the game I will not like the game". Ok, thats fine. But the question of this thread is what would make PvP more central to the game. And imho unified open, disability to clog would make that so.
Because I speak with experience and you speak WITH NONE.
Because I speak with experience and you speak WITH NONE.
I think that this is your speculation of what the majority of the Mobius players do, or what you would like to believe is the case and not their stated reasoning.
As for the last part, I'm afraid that make no sense to me.
By the way, why do you keep shouting at everyone? It's not very polite.
^^ echo chambers are echo chambers in news shocker.
The question of this thread is "Why PvP is not popular in Elite Dangerous?" not "What would make PvP more central to the game?"
The answer is because people like that PvP is not more central to the game. It's literally exactly why I'm here rather than playing EvE or any of the other PvP focused space games. If it was more central I wouldn't be here either.
Yes the changes you suggest would force everyone into PvP - but is that actually any good for the game.
So is Charlie Sheen.AND IM WINNING!
Its not speculation, https://youtu.be/9tobMVjSMnQ?t=82
If you have access to the PGS, You can do it ALLL DAY LONG.
All modes have access to the BGS.
Yeah this is the echo chamber, and its a very small group of people here in comparison to the rest of the player base that DOES want these changes.
All modes have access to the BGS. Get over it. FD designed the game to be that way, and that's who created "your problem", not PvE players who choose to play in PG's/Solo.
You've been told this numerous times and still fail to accept it, but it's not for a lack of education.
And to clarify - there are, in fact, no modes.
LOL
Oh is that why the PvP community is tiny by comparison to any of the PvE groups - because you're the majority. Gotchayous very clever.
It's not the spoon that bends... it's you.![]()
Because I speak with experience and you speak WITH NONE. Self admittedly like more than half the people commenting here.
On reddit, in discords, youtube, twitch streams everywhere else. People agree. But here, its the same people and its a joke.
Its so much so a joke people created this, https://imgur.com/4eY0PR8 FDEV BINGO. AND IM WINNING!
On PvP vs PvE
We listen to both sides. While it's true that the PvP crowd do tend to be more vocal and in previous betas have given more organised feedback, we're well aware that the majority of players don't get involved in PvP. A few changes here are more focused on one or the other (torpedoes have no real place in PvE at the moment for starters), but overall I think they promote variety of loadouts in both styles of play, and will make both more fun. On a personal note: I play more or less entirely in PvE, so if anything my bias in favour of that.
Heh. My point is that (to the best of my knowledge) 'Solo' 'Private Group' And 'Open' are never actually referred to as 'modes' in the game itself. Because they're not modes, they're instancing filters.
Because people complained about the RNG and a lot of effort could mean no improvements. Now the RNG influence is diminished and every upgrade is an improvement. Why do you think they made changes to engineers for the longevity of the game so everyone has a equal shot?
