Does that actually work? Wow.... Will this trigger an ATR response? If so, then in some ways this is more of a grief tactic than ramming another ship. The little devil on my shoulder wants to go ram some posh Cutter in a disposable Sidewinder and see what happens. (Don't worry, I won't)

The main problem would be to get into the same real-space instance as the Cutter. Interdict them, and you're the attacker (hopefully...). So all you can do is lie in wait in hotspots and wait for that Cutter to pass by. Doing it near a station is difficult since neither of you can go faster than 100 m/s, but a CG RES (or even Nav Beacon) should be viable. What I could imagine would be a wing (might not work if the "attacker" flag is inherited throughout the wing) or a friendly CMDR. One does the interdiction and keeps the victim in place, the other drops in (wing beacon or wake) and rams.

I would imagine, though, that such a tactic would fall under FD's harrassment rules.

As for ATR - probably not on the first occurrence. And if you repeat that stunt, that would clearly be harrassment.

Sure seems like there could be a stable middle ground here. Have some measure of whether a hostile flag was refreshed by gun fire at any point during the fight. Have multiple Rams be counted as a fine attack. Have a further check to see who was moving faster when the collision occurred. The faster pilot is the attacker.

Ram-griefing would still be possible, but it would be a pita to pull it off.

Gunfire: woud be a definite indicator - so don't shoot
Multiple rams: not always neccessary, and difficult to detect/distinguish from a close pass hull scraping where you (as the faster ship) actully try to avoid ramming the other ship nose on, but don't quite manage to miss and hit them with your front landig gear, cargo hatch, main gun, rear landing gear and spoiler.
Faster pilot: would just make it into a challenge

Same as using the contact point - if you define a "ramming zone" around the ship's nose, I'm pretty sure at least two of the people here in this discussion will post videos of ramming in reverse...

Anyone else have a broken comms panel post-update?

That v2 comms panel seems to be giving them no little UI trouble. The grouped inbox messages also seem to overlap frequently. Let me guess, elements reporting their height asynchronously, as well as signals from child to parent containers not propagating properly and relayouts hence not taking place.

I see nothing about you fixing the flight suits we paid for. So I assume my paid items are still pitch black.

Very disappointed and I will no longer be giving you any of my money because Fdev cannot be trusted to preserve what we paid for.

Holisticdefective

I have had issues since the last update. I play on xbox one. These do not seem to be in the patch notes. When in or leaving a station and attempting to go to the galaxy map using the controller or the left panel I get exited to the Xbox main menu. When handing in a mission I get an unable to contact server message. On pressing ok to this I get kicked to the elite dangerous main menu. Once I hit start and then enter the game again the mission has been handed in and all rewards are in place. Credits influence rank etc
