Looks like he got the forum equivalent of electric shock therapy. Encouraging, and well deserved.

Do you guys think we will see bigger arenas, 6DOF, faster speed, longer acceleration and deceleration and limited yaw at Gamescom? Or we need to wait for the 64 bit transition until we get those?

Looking forward to finding this out too. Most importantly I think we'll learn something about whether or not they are set on their current direction. Not long now I guess.

It goes deeper than satan's orange arrow. If you do get a word and have the art to break through the fixed PR smile and actually reach the guy, try and explain to him in the nicest possible way that contrary to the scared little voice in his head telling him to pander to the dumbest common denominator, he is actually in the rare position of being able to lead because they will follow, so have some cohunas and get on with it as per the original plan.

That. And can you tell him to put his modules where his mouth is for me? :D

I just noticed this on Neo-STs signature

If I'm not unwelcome, I believe I'll hop on at about 1815BST if anyone wants to join me.

I'll come if obligations allow me, but my multiplayer doesn't work, so I can't team up with anyone yet (shows I'm offline to everyone, even to me).

I was just planning on a hello, friday night after work, meet my fellow forumites. Look forward to it.

EDIT
Perhaps we could discuss forming a guild, the 'Star Citizen Elite', with a mission to mercilessly hunt down fanboys in both universes ;) (that was in jest in case anyone was wondering)

I would call it, Elite Citizen ;p

I think it's a bit harsh to say Mr. Nowak is "advertising." I, for one, am glad that he, and the other visiting SC fans, post SC updates, as well as keeping a positive attitude about the game. This is the SC thread, after all, so updates are expected, and a variety of opinions are required in order to keep the thread from devolving into the fan-rage that the SC forums are claimed to be.

However, I am curious to hear what other space-sims you've played, Mr. Nowak. Not that I'm questioning your credibility or anything like that, I'm just curious to hear what your expectations for a space sim are, as I'm rather surprised to hear you dislike ED.

I haven't exactly played all of them myself, but of those that I have played and enjoyed, I found that the variety of playstyles didn't matter to me as much as how deep and involving the gameplay was. I've mentioned before that my all-time favorite space-sims were the Freespace games, which were about fast action in nimble ships. (Side note: Freespace ships are 100% more badass looking than every single ship model I've seen coming from both CIG and FD. Yep, I went there. Don't hate, y'all. Just accept the facts.)

But I've also played I-War, where your ship was a boat, and combat was much slower and more deliberate. Very different from the quick action of FS, and yet I enjoyed playing just as much, possibly even more, because of the depth and detail of ship control. It was a different experience, and that variety is what made me want to play it instead of just ditching it for FS.

Similarly, the X and Evochron series offered more variety to play with, and while I admittedly never played the original Elite, Oolite was fun to play because of that same feel you get playing the original Super Mario Bros. in comparison to something like Super Mario Galaxy. Sometimes simplicity rules.

So that's why I'm a bit curious as to your approach to Elite, and why I'm curious of your expectations from a space sim.

(Also, I suspect that it has to do with not playing with a joystick. I'd totally mail you my old X52 that I've been trying to dump for ages, but I'm not going to deal with international shipping. Suffice it to say, space sims are 100% better if you have a joystick to play with.)

Now they've gone from selling virtual space ships to plastic spaceships....

Le sigh.

?

What do you mean?

NEW MODE

https://robertsspaceindustries.com/comm-link/transmission/14072-Capture-The-Core-Now-Playable

Patterned after classic ‘Capture the Flag’ games but with the additional challenge of operating in three dimensional space, Capture the Core is a team based game mode that rewards points to players for capturing ‘cores’ from the opposite side of the map. Players must capture the cores and then transport them to the other side of the map to add to their energy stockpile.

"Capture the core" gamemode added to AC.
Starting now, no idea what it is (possibly capture the flag).
Find ships have lots of HP since 12.5 have trouble finishing of even one 300i with my hornet in reasonable time (10+ seconds of fire on target) guns overheat first.

Mouse far more accurate my biggest gripe atm. .

Pesonally I have no problems with the direction of the flight model, but work is needed (still has the potential to surpass Diaspora, I-War).

Well I am holding out for the CR and Wingman action figures. And for the girls, Barbie Sandi with optional Hangar dream house (Pinkcat, not included).
