There is a conspiracy mate. If you are a PvEer and you post something that breaks the rules, you get a slap on the wrist because you posted something that breaks the rules.
However .... and this is where the injustice kicks in, if you are a PvPer and you post something that breaks the rules, you get a slap on the wrist because you're a PvPers.

That's the theory, and it's as water tight as an otter's anus.

Uh...no. That's not the conspiracy, Ziggy. You better check that anus because there's some water leaking in. Now, I will concede that things have gotten a lot better over the last few months in the fairness department, but I attribute that almost entirely to how often I've called the mods out on it and how devilishly persuasive I've been in my re-education efforts. It's been a tough campaign, but I think we're seeing real progress.

Why? How? The particular individual in question actually knows how to behave and does not tolerate fools easily. The later part is why you will probably never see them in Open, amongst other reasons.

I would say the "infamous" PvPers are more deluded than level headed.

Yeah, no. There are no "apex predators" in solo/group. That's just flat out nonsense, a player who perpetuates a myth that cannot be disproved because they cannot be reached in a mode that doesn't even allow self defense, carried out by fans and fanatics who's closest experience to PvP is writing self deluded frippery on this forum and will never discover just how very wrong they are, too, because (you guessed it!) they play exclusively in a mode other then Open and don't have the foggiest clue what they're on about.

Balance. A ship built fer pve will never be able to go toe to toe with a ship built specifically fer pvp and wont be much use fer pve either. Same with pvp ships...they not much use fer pve.

Balance...it doesnt exist and that makes yer argument a moot point ^

Nearly all of my ships are ready for both. Just swap out some HRPs and cargo racks and you're good to go.

I've seen it a hundred times if not more; the PvEer who thinks he/she is so bad because, well, just because! I don't have to be a psychic to know bull manure when I see it. True apex predators have honed those skills by preying on fellow players, not farming NPC's in their Corvettes while Netflix plays on the opposite screen and their turrets do all the work. There is simply no apex predator without PvP.

I consider myself totally an apex-PVE-predator

Thx. I got my rearside shot off often enough to know that I'm not good, and thats totally ok for me.

But at least I fly mostly fixed, turreted vette is not apex-PVE-predator :x

They just find that most of the PvPers these days are more irritating than a real challenge (primarily because of attitiudes and behaviours), I am not of their calibre and probably never will be but that is besides the point, you don't actually have to fly in open to have decent combat skills - it does come naturally to some people.

Yes, you do have to fly in Open and practice constantly to have those skills. The players who are truly good at PvP have fought thousands upon thousands of small to large scale engagements, and that count goes up on a daily basis. I'm glad that you're impressed with this player who smited you...though I have you pegged as being a netflix on the opposite screen whilst the turrets do all the talkin' kind of gal, too, so that's not really impressing me.

It's not like I'm unwilling to change my opinion, though; send forth your champion to San Tu and let him prove his mettle!

That's a very pretty load of supposition and guesswork that in no way precludes the possibility that someone had enough of PvP and stopped.

ED's true apex predators skulk in solo grinding engineered weps, emerging infrequently to splat noobs or the unwary. Then fleeing back to their safe space in case of repercussions, then they venture into the forum to tell everyone else to play in open all the time.

At this point I feel you might just be trolling... this "apex predator" you talk about sounds more and more like an idea you use to help make you feel safe from the bad men on the forums.
