This is COMPLETELY INSANE. You are telling me that because a few folks couldn't handle cleaning their ship before swapping modules that now, as a pirate, I cannot swap ANY of my modules even while in an Anarchy system without paying off my bounty? This is a complete KNEE JERK REACTION, and we will not stand for it. At the very least you MUST allow us to be able to swap hot modules for hot modules or our pirate ships won't be able to even swap in a fuel scoop for travel to our next pirate gig.

We need a response, even if it's just "We are re-evaluating". Shutting off outfitting EVERYWHERE for hot ships is completely nonsensical. Putting in a failsafe warning about the cleaning fee when trying to store a hot module makes far more sense

Oh, thank god. The lack of symmetry on my Vulture pulse paint job was a real headache.

Let me navlock to my wingmate so he can confirm it works- uh oh comms panel is broken again. That's okay, it's not as important as paint symmetry.

Crying about some things getting fixed and others not isn't really fair. I get that there's some game breaking bugs that need to be addressed right now, but I doubt the art team that did the tweaking on the paint job was gonna be very helpful fixing the comms panel bug.

Outfitting of ‘Hot’ Ships

We’re changing the crime system when it comes to ‘hot’ ships.

The reason for this is that the system of cleaning ‘hot’ modules in storage was creating an unfair punishment, where commanders were removing modules from ‘hot’ ships that only had small bounties on them and then discovered that the cost for cleaning ‘hot’ modules was dramatically more expensive!
...

I read this - and as someone who had personally suffered from this glitch, I was naturally glad to see it addressed... and then I thought about it!

This is surely a very short-sighted fix? We want criminal players, we want pirates - how can you do this without changing your ship layout? What if you need a fuel scoop to make the journey? What if you need a new limpet controller to complete the task? Or some more cargo space? or an Indictor etc?

As this fix is written - it implies you need to pay for every crime before moving on to commit the next one. Really?

Is outfitting still available in Anarchy systems? Anarchy systems shouldn't even notice a hot module if they are genuinely lawless.

Surely the right fix is that clean modules do not get infected when putting on a hot ship. And hot modules get cleaned (even when in storage) when the relating bounty gets paid off.

That means - until you clean off the bounty, putting a hot module on a clean ship and flying into the offending system - will get you marked wanted (when scanned). That's fair. It stops the "take all your modules out and destroy the ship" cheat. BUT it does not penalise legitimate (note: tongue in cheek) criminals from going about they malpractice.

I don't really know why the Law Abidding Citizen could not just be show a messages saying "You have 200Cr fine that's about to become a 14MCr cleaning fee. Do you want to: a) Continue Anyway, b) Pay the fine, then Continue, c) Cancel".

Simple, no?

Absolutely.

We already have missions available from the comms HUD.

Seems like it'd be possible to add "donation" missions to the types of missions provided there.

That way, they could set it up so that as soon as you get a trivial fine, you get a "mission", from System Security, saying you've been fined and you can either pay it now or later.
Click the tick and the fine is deducted from your balance.
Click the X and you have to find somewhere to pay it later.

This was always on the cards. It was far to quick in 3.0.

Thank goodness I ground like heck to get to Duke/Rear Admiral before today...

so i just lost an opportunity to grind for a rank i couldn't care less about? damn ... always late to the party ...

oh well, i can have forum lulz with yet another update fallout. keep it up guys!

True, but..., the comms panel bug was introduced in the last bug-fixing patch, which should never have happened in the first place. it was reported 30 mins after the patch went live. if it's not fixed in this patch, that's really inexcusable.

No outfitting?

This new “no outfitting of hot ships” change is ridiculous, it’s unfairly punishing and completely ruins significant portions of the game, I could support it if it was limited to shutting down outfitting in systems where you are wanted but being unable to outfit your ship at all, even in friendly space where you have no bounty is stupid.

Has anyone noticed their ships overheating since this patch

my cool running chieftain now overheats BADLY when I fire my packhounds, this wasn’t in the patch notes

The reason they gave for the change sounds like a pretext to me.. It looks like they were unsatisfied with the level of punishment and decided to crank it up.

All this change will do is further marginalise piracy and increase ganking, because that is never really affected by any of these crime updates (especially as how bounties now only apply to ships, not players).

I want to continue playing as a pirate and criminal with high bounty/notoriety, I don't want to pay for any fines/bounties, allow certain lawless/anarchy stations to allow outfitting I don't care if there are very few places, but being locked out of it entirely in any port and being forced to pay kind of kills the "blaze your own trail" when you want to play as a criminal/pirate. The punishment should be limiting your options of ports, not being locked out entirely out of every port in the galaxy.

Hello Frontier. I would like to seek clarification on the comms panel, and if it has been fixed or not?

  • Fixed assassination missions showing players the target mission system prematurely
  • Collect missions will no longer give out rewards which are wanted by collect missions from the same station

Because let's not make any part of this game slightly less tedious and annoying.

This is "better"?

Distance doesn't matter anymore.

What? They were shocked that their Punishment and Punishment update did NOTHING to reduce player ganking.

As long as gankers have high wake, we will live consequence free
