When a player abuses Powerplay pledges solely to avoid Crime and Punishment, we're not supposed to comment on it. The rules allow it, shut up.
When a player uses the menu log like it's intended. It's a travesty.

Bless 'em :)

Use what you like. Dont be surprised if your name is in that reddit sub.

Who cares about that meaningless reddit sub? Honestly, it's just a way for frustrated players who take their pixels ships way to seriously to put their indignation.

Which is a good thing. Those things need to vent.

Who cares? The salt in the comments prooves otherwise. They care trust me.

Nah, you do, some others PVP'ers do but the vast majority don't give a crap about your pathetic little lists, the usually stinking hypocrisy from a subset of PVP players,

In one thread - "you carebears are so precious about your pretend space pixels, it's only a game'
In another - "combat logging, the modes and everything else are taking my pretend space pixel 'plodeys from me, they'ze so important, waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah'

Hypocrite.

Not at all (at least from my perspective). I hate exploits full stop which is why you'll usually see me leading the charge against the 'working as intended' side.

However, as I've said before, one persons exploit is anothers 'working as intended' content, as we've seen with the following discussions:

Combat logging
Board refreshing
Instance switching on ground missions next to the objective.
Mission stacking
Skimmer kills
Indirect PvP from another mode
5/1 Engineers
PP Wing Kills

To name but a few

I'd say all but the indirect PvP, since that is clearly how the mechanic is supposed to work. You can argue unfairness, but exploit needs the developer not seeing that usage coming.

I did not include you indeed, since I have not heard you gleefully boasting about using an exploit.

Some times the devs put the exploit in the game, because they know some players will add it as a third party tool.
Examples are the bandwidth monitor and the relative mouse.
They are so simple to install that it’s better to make the available in the game.
Like the menu log, they are intended mechanics because the alternative is worse.

Those who are most terrified of open are those who know the least about it.

Those who think people are "terrified" of a mode leave me wondering, yet many times if they were to use their own logic they would apply it to themselves about other modes I would think. Otherwise why are they so up in arms and railing about them?

ahahahahaha horse crap...... mouse what its the risk of solo mode ?.......... the only risk you can take in solo that you got interdicted by a elite npc and you be in a shieldless ship, aand with undersized modules.. thats the only risk..... and easily avoided.... because its so easy to win the interdiction minigame against a npc.

so i will stick with the Elite isnt Dangerous......and you can be in your happy world where a pve ship doesnt take any risk at all.

because let me remind you even a pve battle spec or multifunction ship can evade a interdiction or high wake a pvp ship....

You do realize that EVERYTHING you said there was subjective right? All that "non risk" was for you, algo and maybe some other "uber elites" not for the majority of the playerbase. Yet you keep trying to force them to play by your yardstick.

So again your comments are horse crap.

And what is this I am hearing... Menu logging is now a cryable offence? Dang.. is that why they mine salt.. they've cried all theirs out?

My offer to wing up with you in open still stands, you know. In case you needed a refresher:

I'll make you an offer- again, totally serious. You wing up with me in open for an hour or two and we do whatever you want. We can explore, mine, bounty hunt, harvest mats in empty or populated systems- you name it. If we get attacked by a CMDR I'll buy you a paintpack. If we don't, you relay the story of that time you toodled around in open for a few hours and nothing at all traumatizing happened.

No tricks. No hidden gankers waiting for you when we meet up. You and many like you have a terribly inaccurate view of open- that it's nothing but a den of sociopath griefers, lurking in every system you jump into. It isn't like that- not even close.

And with people sitting on the forums bragging over their kills per hour and how busy as "griefers" they are, what impression are people supposed to have?

I play in open, so when people say open needs a buff for how "hard" it is, I know that isn't true - I'm in open, it's as easy as Solo.
But I cannot get folks to play open with me, because of a few who want to give open a bad name.

If you want people in open, fix your own advocates.
Because until they stop giving it a bad name, no one has a real reason to want to be there.

You're completely missing the point. No one gives a crap if someone randomly gets blown up, or someone explores in Open.

We're talking about Targetted Area's of attack from other player groups where lots of guys would be hanging around.

Check this out, everyone fought against each other. Had a great time. And even understood powerplay was the consensual PVP program it was made to be.

This stuff doesnt happen all the time. So it was nice to see.

Anyways, this is what we are talking about balancing. Most of the time, one side continues with the options that are given to them. Everyone ends up hauling in private and solo. This time people stayed out and interacted with each other. And had a great time.

Take that option away. And powerplay will grow. Just for the simple fact people have a chance to face their enemies.

Same with BGS Player groups. That part of the game would grow as well. At the end of the day its player group vs player group. It doesnt matter if its Powerplay or BGS Faction stuff. Keep it all on the same field.

That looks absolutely fabulous.

We had a conflict ourselves just a couple weeks ago that was completely in Open. Dozens of Commanders were battling over our home system and attacking our enemies' system (perhaps you heard about the most recent Ray Gateway Lockdown?). Some folks might've wanted to hit BgS from behind Private and Solo, but leadership banded together and made sure everyone played honorably.

And guess what? No salt and 'good game' all around after it was over. I can say with 100% certainty it's because of our commitment to fighting it out in Open!

Jockeys wall says this is impossible! Dont ya know?

Seriously though, The PVP community does their best to police themselves in terms of balancing. We know its screwed up. It was sure nice to see people working together just to fight each other.

I actually agree and I've told Algo and others multiple times to organize a battle, set one up. Get a real PVP war going. But unlike you all they do is sit and complain that someone will get them from PG and Solo. Kudo's to you and those who had your war.

How would Jockey say it was impossible when he's given the suggestion before to DO THAT.

Talk about ignoring the point.

I responded to the content of a specific post, perhaps you should go read the post I quoted (plus spoiler) and then read my post again.
As the post I quoted was talking about open having a bad reputation, nothing to do with balancing or Power Play.

And your post just proves my point, as you ignored the content of the conversation (or didn't read it) to just push your agenda.

Jockeys wall says this is impossible! Dont ya know?

Actually it says it's optional.

Apart from the BGS, every aspect of the game is optional.
Which if you read The Wall of Information properly you'd understand.

Sadly, the PvP communities "best" just isn't good enough when you come on here being nasty and demanding people have features taken away that they paid for.
You are one of the worst offenders for giving PvP a bad name around here. As you make it look like all PvP'ers are selfish and want to ruin the game for PvE players / anyone who does not want to play with PvP'ers
