He is not going to play Open. Get over it snowflakes. When you get told you have no Open game and that it is either private or solo, THEN you can complain about it. And, no "It's frontiers's game" only ever applies when frontier do something you agree with, NEVER if they try to do something you don't want. And never when you want a further change to aid your agenda.
You're protesting against a suggested change by switching from one game mode, which was developped for use by the players, to another game mode, which was also developped for use by the players.
So in essence you're telling Frontier "look, be very careful, if you don't do what I want I'll just keep playing your game". I may be thick but I don't think that will give you a whole lot of leverage.

I'm just gonna keep loading my usual group mode (& it's not mobius).
FD can do what they want with the game, it won't get me to play in open.
At some point in the future if/when FD move more & more things into open only, there'll be a point when I say 'this game ain't worth loading anymore' & I stop playing.
I'm more interested into why there is an obvious blockade on any FD employee, posting comments on the forum now. We only hear from Ed & Will & then it's only useless information.

Like...
What % of players play in each mode? - maybe per month or over last 6 months
What % of players play PP? - total & by mode.
These are just two from the current topics, surely Frontier can analyse this kind of info, if anything to see where the game needs improving.
Do they collect this data?
Do they look at it? Act on it?

Why though? It would serve no purpose other than to fuel an already pointless and overblown 'debate' about which mode is better by people who call solo players cowards and open players psychos. I can only speak for myself of course, but with the greatest respect I really couldn't care less which mode you or anyone else plays in. I'd rather just play the game and enjoy myself rather than worrying about what everyone else is doing. Unless they've got hardpoints deployed and are behind me in supercruise.. [haha]
It would add weight or not into FD's thinking about why they are considering it.
If FD came forward & said 'look 25% of players play PP & 90% of those play in open' - then FD show there's a case.
If FD say 'only 1% play PP & it's 33% in each mode' - then it's not worth considering, 'cos 99% aren't playing PP anyway & that's unlikely to improve much no matter what they do.
Sometimes given people little info can be dangerous, but giving them no info can be even worse.
