Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

Currently doing the usual, working the BGS to provide fun, excitement and challenges to the Commanders in our Wing.

And expanding our little Empire, one System at a time. Today another ground Port will be conquered and added to our ever growing list of assets.

Busy increasing my bank balance so I can afford to fit out the challenger I bought recently (currently just a basic hull parked up) while bringing my explorer rank up at the same time. So a mixture of tourists passenger missions, high paying delivery missions (just for the money) and black box retrieval missions. I find the tourist missions a bit dull though so not so many of those. Black box attackers seem to be rarer now, they used to be pretty much 100% but now more like 25-30% chance of getting them and my Krait can take them anyway :) Bit of combat just spices things up a bit.

Update to my current ongoings: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showt...-GNOSIS-Jumps-planned-THROUGH-a-permit-Lock-!

The Gnosis did the first (of three) jumps to get behind the permit wall last night, so it's still time to get on board. Bring cookies and exploration equipment.

I took one of my accounts there last night. I am thinking that I might change that to another, more "mature" one and with greater level of resources for a journey back from "the rift" afterwards.

Just hit one of my goals: get 100m CR. I'm asking myself now whether to grab a T7 and go shopping or just keep mission running for a) more CR or b) engineering mats or c) both.

I may start a Palin run. I may even waft around some low RES sites just for lolz.

There was also a link in one of my threads from a while back where I wanted to see something different and was pointed at something - was it Thargoid related? - but I didn't go because scooping eluded me. Now I've worked through my issues and have the proper medication, I may look into it again.

Now that you are a combat pilot you could get an Alliance Chieftain for even more RES fun, actually anything below 20 million could be bought and given a reasonable set of equipment which is all bar 13 of the ships available (14 including the Cobra IV).

Congrats to you on the 100m mark, Tyres!!! :)

Consider the Python.
~93.5 mil, unarmed trader, 260t w/shields, only FSD engineered https://s.orbis.zone/41r
If you buy everything in LYR space, that would take care of a few rebuys.
It only has a 5A pp, so that will need to be upgraded is you want weapons or something.

I'm an ace pilot. I have all my kills stenciled on the washer that tightens one of nuts on the cockpit . In the right light you can even see it .

Congrats to you on the 100m mark, Tyres!!! :)

Thank you, Lieutenant!

Python! Lawks, I'd forgotten about that! Ta!

PS Apologies for so many replies but not sure how to put all quotes in one post - not on the PC at present.

'Lawks'?
Are you reading some Discworld?
If you get a Python, you'll keep it. One of, if not the, most useful ships in the galaxy.[yesnod]
And it will earn it's purchase price back in no time!

Edit: Non of my Pythons are armed, nor have they ever been.:p

Still mining those icy rings.Running away from pierats who wants my stuff.Leaving the starport without the neccessaries.Looking at the rebuy screen.Looking for a decent guide to mining.Pesky pierats!

I didn't. Python is an incredibly boring ship. And at 100MCr it's WAY worse than T7. It has less cargo space, worse maneuverability and general survivability. Its ONLY advantage is medium pads, but that simply doesn't justify it for me.

...just thought I'd chime in with an counter-argument. :)

I never said I actually like it!
:p

T7 is a bigger, slower target that only carries 16t more cargo at max capacity, but yes, the Python is pretty boring.
Of course it can have a 7A PD installed to spice things up in a way the T7 only wishes it could.
Having 3 APAs and 2 Imperial Hammers is a blast!

Medium pads are also very profitable as you well know.
