Gamescom 2018

I'm going to sound all white knighty I know but it's a development process isn't it and you do, add major mechanics then flesh them out. And it's not a major update. There's some iteration in mechanics, wing surface but the settlements and guardians especially are at least more different stuff, similar to .. but we don't really already have. Because it's new.

I understand the point but why did they essentially made two identical ships (Challenger & Chieftain) over the last updates?

Let's be honest, do we really need more missile launchers?

Possibly no, but that's just because I dont use missiles anyway. The introduction of the small AX weapons is a great thing, though. For us who fly Eagles/iEagles at least. No kidding :D

You'll find they fly very different from each other, even if they look similar/same.

It's also not totally daft of devs to get as much value as they can, from assets they create is it.

Again alliance ship ...

beurk.

But for the rest, I am not living at colonia so I guess i don't care that part too.

The new fighters look interesting.

The new Guardian weapon for small ships is good but could have been added from the very beginning. (And I don't feel happy when thinking at how I need to unlock at tech broker).

I hope Frontier works out the unlock process with new guardian ship or whatever blue light the trailer showed us.

I will be there at 28 /08 anyway

To be honest:

Personally, I would doubt that there was any presentation, when Ed pointed & said that phones should be switched off.......to me it seemed a joke & the lack of any further posts about this, seems to verify my thinking.
I've read that something previously seen as concept art was seen in engine. So guess one of the things previewed only as concept art at Lavecon for Q4, maybe probes or new asteroids or ice surface? Could be completely wrong though. Q4 is close in any case, so I'm not particularly bothered, be here soon enough.

yes, we do... i have that rather bad placed large hardpoint on my corvette that would like to be outfitted with some high-capacity large missile launcher tubes.
or that type 10 that would use large missile launchers not only effective vs. thargoid scouts.

I've certainly never seen anyone request large missle launchers, probably because they are mostly useless for PvE & PvP.

at the and of that topic i actually request a huge AX one...
and yes, there have been request for large missile launchers long time ago.
and no, they are not useless in PvE, neither in PvP... actually AFAIK packhounds are missiles, and i remember seeing some good pvp'ers posting their kills on youtube, using missiles
also - if missiles are not used in either situations, where do those complaints come from about how missiles can disarm ships in seconds,
or what was that weapoin system that can kill hundreds of skimmers in seconds, or level down barnacle forrests for harvest?

to bad that no small AX weapons are listed there... only guardian and that shock cannon.

Nope. Nothing about premium content, nothing about exploration, nothing about Q4 at all. Only information about 3.2 due next week.

I'm beginning to wonder if they just go to these events to have a up and mini-holiday.

They don't seem to do much in the way of reveals.

That's my only disappointment. The AX weaopns.

I'd love small AX missile tubes.

i forgot:

i am still missing some informations:
  1. are the large missile launchers just more ammo or higher yield missiles?
    • personally, i would like both options, a large missile launcher same damage, higher RoF/Ammo, and one the fires higher yield ones
  2. same for the torpedo launcher
  3. can i have a non-AX dumbfire turret?
  4. can we mod those new hardpoints right away? in the current balance, not beeing able to mod a hardpoint makes it a rather dull addition

Actually you're right, this isn't worth my time or my energy. I've cooled off now. They can keep adding whatever space magic they want to their game, I realized I don't care anymore.

Darn. I was hoping for some vicarious catharsis through you. I guess after all the hamfistery in the past year I still care a little bit about the gameworld and the fiction of Elite, and was hoping for some overtures back towards the classy, "hard sci-fi with sprinkles" worldbuilding the game was founded on. Seems like there's no going back, though, and Elite is destined to be another generic Halo knockoff SyFy also-ran.
