BREAKING NEWS: GNOSIS STRANDED, GALNET NEWS!

Luckily, this one time, I was ahead of the curve. By completely uninstalling the game a few weeks ago, I have avoided all subsequent disappointment due to incompetent game development. Why do I continue to stick around? Honestly because this stuff is hilarious once it doesn’t affect you lol.

Two more hours, and we'll know for certain what action FDev took since the release of this disappointing "news."

Still, I am on The Gnosis with my second account, while I fly around Sol with my main account. I am hoping for something more, yet.

I feel I should say something briefly...

It's not right to discuss the employees in this thread. Generally speaking, almost all employees in Frontier will NOT be responsible for this debacle. It will be something else, a technical issue, or perhaps simply not a priority for whatever reason... but we cannot actually blame any member of staff for what's happened.

We CAN, however, blame 'Frontier'. That's where anger should be aimed at, as it is the decisions made by the company that has brought us to where we are today. Individuals are generally never responsible for this, and it would be very difficult to point fingers at a single person to blame.

As if blame actually mattered at all anyway. This is outright an abusive relationship and there have been zero consequences for fdev's behavior so far. Blaming the company, a person, anything...it doesn't matter. Nothing matters. They will continue to get away with this. It won't make any difference who gets shouted at.

Wow, I'm actually speechless.

Generally biding my time waiting for Q4 exploration improvements as I'm an explorer at heart in this game and somewhere between Colonia and the bubble anyway right now. Recently came back to the forum to see where everyone's at. Saw lots and lots of salt, but one thing stuck out:

Just how many people were talking about The Gnosis.

"Really cool!" I thought. Really made me happy to see so many people engaged with something in game and uniting like this across here and Reddit.

The last event of this nature I took part in (Formadine Rift stuff) was ultimately disappointing, but I was hoping for all involved that this new "event" would be at least entertaining.

Frontier, what are you guys doing? Even for someone like me, a LEP holder that calls Elite one of the best gaming experiences of his life, you're not making it easy to stick up for you.

Dayum, looks like it may be over before it's even begun and in oh so predictable fashion.

CG incoming with a livestream to follow telling us how awesome this all is.

Frontier are just taking the p!ss now.

(Just imagine that I typed out a bunch of expletives. Like, at least 5.)

I guess we'll see what happens tomorrow.

If there's gonna be a CG to repair the ship, at least make it something interesting.

The amount of isle crossing going on is hilarious. Usually frontier just annoy one group or other. They've gone the nuclear option and just pretty much annoyed most everyone this time.

There is still quite a bit of denial tho. Surely this is just a ruse? Nope. This is it. This is the best Frontier can do. And yeah, folks should not single people out.

This is Frontier's direction. It's how the developer believes they should engage with the community. And it's just bloody awful.

It's not just awful - it's insulting. Frontier have gone from listening and interacting with the community, to utterly ignoring them, stringing us along and feeding us if buts and maybe's. It's just ridiculously insulting. I am fairly certain that when the guys in Canonn who are involved with the organisation of this event find out, they will be seriously irritated - and considering the work they put in to the 'mysteries' side of the game (just look at the insane number of external tools developed just for the Thargoid/Guardian stuff), this will be a serious slap in the face.

And you know what, even if this DOES somehow turn out to be an error or something, the sheer fact the Galnet article ever saw the light of day is unforgivable - IF it was somehow a mistake, then the article should have been deleted. The fact it wasn't and it made it to the live website is enough to justify the anger and frustration being expressed in this thread.

Frontier... you're pushing your luck. Ride the JE gravy-train as much as you like... this IS going to make the gaming media, and it won't be pretty.

Even if the Galnet flub turns real, wouldn't it be interesting if a few hundred of us aboard The Gnosis were somehow flung into the outer reaches of the galaxy and our only rescue would depend upon The Gnosis being repaired as she would be the only ship able to attempt a rescue?

Ok, grasping at straws, but hey! I'm giving them ideas, right?

Nope. Your ideas have in-game consequences and depth. Never going to happen.

I tried my hand at repairing a station and believe me, that's a monumental task. A megaship would be less of a monumental task, but still a big job. Like I said before I see no reason to bail from the Gnosis, but, can't see what you could do there so far away other than mine, and I went with an explorer ship, not a mining ship..

I posted some heartfelt stuff here tonight. Really exorcised an Elite related demon on these forums. And I want to say THANK YOU to everyone who put up with my crap, and especially to those truly deserving players who actually READ my . My heart goes out to the believers tonight; you dont deserve this. Any of you.

I will leave off for bed on the US East Coast here with this thought: IF - and I stress IF - this turns into a Bog Standard CG tomorrow morning, then folks...deep breath...lets be real with one another: IF that happens, on top of this fiasco...well, in mountain country, rivers have this spot called a "fall line." The Fall Line is the point at which a river loses so much altitude, in such a short distance, that the loss both becomes noticeable, and makes it impossible for the river to ever again reach the heights at which it began its run.

And if this turns into a CG, well...I think its safe to call that Elite's definitive "fall line." I mean first we got the post from Brett, which, I still see as a confession that technology literally cannot produce their promised game. Then, we had Zac: No major content for this year. NO LEP content for this year. And literally nothing but a planning stage on the horizon. And now, we got this...fiasco.

Call a spade a spade, folks. Because from here on out, continuing to support this game, gets you no more nor less than you deserve. If thats somehow a miracle turnaround, fine, we will all meet back here and rejoice while I shout about how delightful it is to be wrong, occasionally.

And if its just more of this, well...if you're honest with yourselves, you will admit that, yep, you deserve that, too, from this point forward.

Think carefully before you buy your next paint pack. Remember the Gnosis.

I had a Froniter store embargo for a while now because i saw how this game was not heading in any good direction. About 2 nights ago i relented and bought some stuff in anticipation of this event, to meet other cmdrs with my shiny new paint job. Well I totally regret those purchases, and wont fall for this ever again. Embargo is now locked solid until they have actual PROVEN they have delivered, not just some vague distant empty promises.

Honestly I dont really care about Q4 at this point. I was waiting to see how frontier would play future events. We know now, beyond a doubt, that this is all there is.

I am very sad that its come to this. Frontier have established a record at this point that means its implausible that any other outcome could ever exist.

It's that they have never tried. 10k people sent a message to Frontier. And it was ignored. There's no walking back from that.

Continuing to support the developer is just enabling more of it.
