I suspect they desperately want to try. But what can they say? They're just the guys between frontier and us. And they may not have been fully briefed either.
It must be crushing to read this. They work hard. It will cut. Just. It's so disappointing.
The game has come to this. What more is there to say.
Costs Incrementally Grow.
I moved my alt account to Colonia last week, to have an alternative to community events like this. As a solo player, I did not get caught up in this storyline, as I have been studiously avoiding the Frontier story arcs.
I am sorry for those who have invested so much in this event. But, it fit with a pattern of bad decision-making that the persons managing those story lines have demonstrated. I saw that pattern long ago. I decided to detach.
Now, I am mulling moving the main account out to Colonia. A drastic reduction of my inventory, and only a few ships will make the transition. Most of my bookmark ships can be sold, now, as I will no longer need to travel to the areas where Frontier is running it's narrative. The reason: A vastly increased scope of story-driven activity in the bubble will make it difficult for me to justify the annoyances of the plotlines ruining my game experience.
Many bookmarks will be removed. Many places will never be visited again. I do not think I am alone in this. I am not surprised at this turn of events. What is tragic, is that so many believed, yet again, in the game master.
Please do not blame the ordinary troops at Frontier. I shall leave it as an exercise for the student in the failure of the command structure. We are beyond the point where an intervention will be of any use. So, let go of the anger. It does no good.

The whole thing is immersion-breaking anyway. The Gnosis can't carry that many ships, surely?

What they were gonna put there wasn't quite ready so they killed the Gnosis for a week to finish off the Thargoid mothership or whatever.

There's also a patch happening at the server downtime, but it sounds like the downtime is expected to be the usual 10-40 minutes.
