Oh dang, totally forgot about that. Yeah it was either a shady business, or Space Jesus come to spread the word about Earth Jesus.

Remember how the Unknown Probes/Artifacts/whatever had been scanning ships and producing audio that could be graphed out into a visual representation of said ships? A lot of people (myself included) believed that Frontier was planning to introduce the Thargoids (or another alien species) by claiming that they had copied our ship designs and that, therefore, combat against the aliens wouldn't be any different from combat against any other NPCs. The outcry was quite vocal and a lot of people believed that Frontier shelved the idea due to said outcry. I for one still believe this to be the case.

Because the name Raxxla is nowhere to be found (I checked my astronomy books and other sources, including the obscure "Star Names and Their Meanings" by R. Hinckley Allen; and the incredibly general: Google search) I can't help but notice how symmetric the word is and go on this strange crypto-tangent (other posts by me on this thread), so yeah, here's another piece based on the 'sator' or palindrome square. Door = key = X marks the spot. Since I'm new, I'm not as familiar with the lore, but I'm doing my best to read up and catch up on all the source material. Hence, the non-lore inquiries and exploration. Why two X's in Raxxla? Because it looks cool/alien? Very uncommon in natural language. When writers make up words, they more often than not base it on things they know. So the name itself may signify something we haven't discovered yet. I may be adding irrelevant information, but I'm hoping that, just like mathematicians studying fireflies, I can add something to the table that will inspire other more fruitful thought.

Code:
R A X X L A
A ? R D ? L
X D O O R X
X R O O D X
L ? D R ? A
A L X X A R

At one point in my search, I thought raxxla had to do with roman numerals:

R: roman
A: either an inverted V (5) or Λ (etruscan or IIII prior notches, so also 5)
X: 10
L: 50

It would then read as roman 5-10-10-50-5. I know, a bit of a stretch. Anyway, if these are sectors, here's a sector (approx 13k LY from sol) that could be candidate for the host system:

II. [5, 10] Bleae Aeh, Synookeia, Bleia Hypai, Lyookaa
X = 6335 to 7615
Y = -1305 to -25
Z = 11735 to 13015

Then we have 3 remaining numbers, [10,50,5] to further subdivide coords or look for systems that match these somehow.

Of course, I don't believe this is relevant in any way. Just adding some routes.

Welcome to the forums and the galaxy, CMDR!

Nothing is wasted, trust me; the more ideas that we come up with that might prove to lead us nowhere takes us closer to our goal - perhaps.

Either way, fresh ideas always welcome, so (you might already know this salute) - Right on, Commander!

Welcome to the thread then. Your welcome gift (have to wear it when posting. We all do, here) :

Mmm, think mine must have got lost in the post, I’ve been wearing either my ED shirt, or the one that confirms my addiction: “ Instant human, just add coffee!”

Since you seem to be convinced that Michael Brookes holds the secret of Raxxla, thought you should know there is a Compatriot Miguel Brooks who offers missions at Hayabusa Landing, Amatsubishi system in Colonia, though didn’t note what faction he’s with. Perhaps he got fed up experimenting with dinosaurs and escaped ot the new bubble, assuming a disguise ;)

Miguel Brooks ? Funny. Sounds like a Gibraltar guy or a Brit enjoying a sunny and well fed retirement in La Costa del Sol. ;)
Anyway, worth to look into that as soon as I am back in Colonia sector.
DW said ( link somewhere here) that afahk only DB and MB know about Raxxla. But, right now, the new Game Director must know too..I think.
"If I had a £ for everytime I was asked "Where is #Raxxla?" I'd be able to buy modestly outfitted ship in #elitedangerous. ;) I don't know - I'm pretty sure that only David Braben and Michael Brookes are privvy to the secret. :)" 08/14/2018

The Executive Producer who replaced MB? Yes one would assume so, odd we never hear from him.

mmmmyes.... This and a few press articles and interviews where MB appears as "Game Director" or "Creative Director" (what ED lacks currently) of that jurassic-thing. Someone who knows about management could certainly pull out some...conclusions ? Perhaps this replacement is supposed to be for a limited time.
"So yeah, I worked on that and actually rised through the ranks to become head of QA [Quality Assurance] and then shifted over into production. And I'm now Game Director. (Jurassic)"

Or, this threader might have a point: https://elitepve.com/viewtopic.php?t=7818#p87085
Which would very well fit in the direction ED took since he left.

What if the world of that Jurrasic game is what we're looking for, and MB going to that project is actually some kind of covert hint?

The tinfoil thickens methinks

No. Raxxla is definitely Planet Coaster not Jurassic World. Whoever finds Raxxla gets free coaster rides for life.

The word Naval is used a lot - out of context in that interview and in the interview with DB at the bar where he says two weird things. One was about the brutality of vultures (maybe the ships) the other was about naval gazing.

[FONT=&quot]In Greek, the word [/FONT]omphalos[FONT=&quot] means “navel,” and the center of the world according to Greek mythology. [/FONT]

Ah ... but "naval gazing" is watching ships set out to sea whereas "navel gazing" is staring at your own bellybutton. ;)

Then I’d better give up now!
I get motion sickness in an SRV, especially since planet surfaces seem to have got more hilly in the last update :eek:

How do you spell the activity for watching oranges? :rolleyes:

I use large doses of Lavian Brandy to counter it. I just have to make sure I keep out of the motion phase. Otherwise the resonance effect can be devastating. ;)

(Tinfoiling time.) Among other concepts reserved to FD, DW was told not to use "antigravity" in ED. Could be reserved to a rogue astronomical body. Who knows ?

Possibly totally unrelated but some time ago I watched a vid of David Braben talking about hidden mysteries in the game, one hint he gave was that certain station names were a clue...I have no idea when or where this was, possibly during a London event but for the life of me I cant locate that vid...

Found it: https://blog.eu.playstation.com/201...id-braben-on-his-favourite-titles/#sf79162914

DB: "On that note, though, we have numbered stations in Elite: Dangerous! You might want to write those numbers down.”
