Because it is still subject to change till last minute when things can be deterred, changed, improved and added. Considering how people react when FD says something, and then comes and say something else, and then they are liars, I think it is smart and sensible approach.

It is not a 'frontierspeak' or contradiction. It is common sense.

Good grief, I just knew someone would say this. Just imagine the codex as a really nice filofax. There's room for more pages in the future but that doesn't stop it from being a really nice filofax from the outset. And please for love of god don't immediately jump on my filofax analogy and read something negative into that too.

Errr, whether something requires demonstration and explanation has zero to do with it being a work in progress. You are connecting to separate things and then mock the connection you yourself just made. A gameplay mechanic can be complex or simple, finished or unfinished, and created by one dev or a million. You can mix these three at will and no combination is a contradiction in and of itself.

you do not work in software, sleutl. i've done plenty 'demos'.
