I really wonder who the PG contractors are... Outerra, Terragen, Voxel Farm? Or maybe even Josh Parnell or I-Novae(really unlikely... but CIG has enough money to buy I-Novae :p)?

I am starting to wonder how much more is being redone. I am now considering upwards from 80 million is going to be required. It seems like not much that will be in the PU is actually locked down at this point.

Well, the Idris is also getting its 3rd review now. CR is indeed a perfectionist, so things like that are in order really. ;)

Diakatana and DNF comes to mind here.

Unsure when he released under Origin, but every other games release from CR had to be forced out of him. I do have some confidence that eventually the game will release - not in the state that was offered at kickstarter unfortunately (my loss).

Might be a while thought, and vapourware can only be sold for so long before income runs dry.

Do you mean this pic in AtV?

It's missing the "Find the 7 differences" phrase

Also good to finally hear CR talk about PG in a more lengthily fashion.
Hopefully this might open some peoples eyes about the fact that SC won't have 100% unique stuff everywhere, since it's totally unachievable at this scale within a lifetime.
He also seems to confirm the size of the star systems.
"Not tens of millions of kilometers"
So assuming that with "Not tenS" he means it could be 10, 20 maybe 30 million km but not much more than that, that would put it at around 1:100 to 1:500 scale if we take our solar system as an average system size.

Pretty sure people would laugh at it instead of taking offence :)

I know I would.

Doing cargo runs in E : D is nothing more than being a glorified trucker in a spaceship. It's part of the legacy of the original game though, and only one of a few ways to earn some coin - but definitely the dullest way to do so, and also just like real life, commerce is the easiest and safest way to get rich.

I'd love to see an Elite/Euro Trucker parody video.

Buhuuu a unrealistic space game....oh the drama.... :D

Disregarding the basic laws of physics to such a huge extent is a massive immersion killer for me as it removes the Science from Science-Fiction and all you're left with is a kind of Futuristic Fantasy.

I could writte an essay about "unrealistic flaws" in every game/movie ever made.

Its supposed to be fun, even the most realism aimed games have flaws, Flight Simmulator, Arma etc.

People shouldn't be so [redacted] about it, loosen up, its just a concept art not a page from World Astronomical Almanac.

Its like there's an Inferiority complex towards SC that works as a hypocritical blindness in disguise and that its not used in the same measures when analyzing "other" games.

To each is own. everyone wins/loses .
