BGS changes: Learnings/Issues/comments

Just worth noting (although it's unsurprising, it's definitely worth noting), combat bonds ramp up Security rating for the issuing faction a lot.

Just a heads up in case this has happened to any other group. Since 3.3 we had seen no positive influence gain in any system, and when checked with fd, it seems there was a disconnect somewhere, and were not receiving ANY influence in ANY system.
Has now been fixed, but if you want a terrifying laugh, have a look at the graphs for Khun on Inara.

I think it's happening in Cowini too; I've put in a tech support request to look at it, is we've seen a slow bleed of influence from obsessive cow haters since the patch went live, but despite an enormous amount of donations (60m so far, I have cash to spare), bounties handed in, and milky tea delivered, we've not seen a single gain since the patch went live, just 0.7% losses every day... if Frontier get back to me, I'll post the details here.

Influence changes bet minor factions in a system are also not showing after BGS tick - what's the logic behind this 3.3 update change?

Yesterday after winning a CZ, "Battle Won" notification popped and I could see Win/Lose indicator in Status of right panel but they were reset shortly afterwards - bug or intended?

There are currently in the region of 22,000 minor factions with at least one conflict. Verily the galaxy is on fire

Yeah. This aspect is very.... interesting. Need to work out how to manage this...

You cannot. And I think a ticket should be raised for that.

All this frozen influence thing doesnt make any sense, even more with 3 days of pending state.

Is there *anything* that makes sense in the new BGS? So far my experiences suggest its either bugged to high heaven or is ludicrously convoluted.

We still don't know if its locked or not showing..... its possible that effort put into the "free" faction is not showing because the infleunce changes cannot display, or because they are disregarded.

Influence locked should be only for faction in conflict, based on patch notes. That is why I think it is a bug. After, it is FD to decide.

Well, sure - but if all but one of the factions in a system are in conflicts and therefore have their influence locked, where does the one remaining faction gain or lose influence to?

I think the problem is that it's way too easy for most non-control factions to end up locked in conflicts most of the time.

This myth that conflict locked factions cannot change inf at all must go. There is enough confusion without myths.
Look at https://inara.cz/galaxy-starsystem/9126/
The 2 factions in Civil War have dropped a couple of points every day since they went pending because work for non-locked factions has continued.
I am not claiming it has not changed at all, as I might have expected their drop to be more in 3.2, but they are NOT absolutely locked.

Don't forget that normalisation can create fluctuations in influence for up to weeks on end. Those adjustments are within bounds of normal bounds of fluctuation due to daily normalisation imo.

Because of that, it's entirely feasible for influences to be locked, but changes to still occur. Happy to do a worked example if you need clarification, but for those who don't know what I'm talking about... because individual faction influence is a rounded figure, it never *exactly* equals 100%, so normalisation can cause all influence to change slightly.

Example: https://cdb.sotl.org.uk/systems/61/history

From 14 December onwards all but the controlling faction were either pending or active a conflict. The controlling faction has not been able to take any influence off them despite owning all the stations in a system with high traffic relative to population. (100-150 traffic, 350k population)

I would expect this to persist until one of the conflicts ends in a few days time.
